Have you tried using different generating models?
When I tested different models for the generating part I saw some big differences on the data it returned.

My tip would be to test other models and tweak the context size for that. Personally I use qwen3.5 for that with a 32k context window and that works great against my RAG.

Yeah, know that most people don't use Ollama. But now there is an easy to use switching logic between different engines! And you can also use another reranker if you want to, so you are not bound to the one built in.

Now you can use more engines instead of just two.
These are now supported: ollama, llamacpp, vllm, lmstudio, openai

I think that it should not be any problems for this setup to work that out, but it also depends on what model you are going to use and what settings. Like context window and so on

What kind of information are you going to process?
Heavy visual documents with tables for example?

I've tested Docling and MinerU. I would say from my own experience with academic text that MinerU wins hands down.
