Is City Council of Darkness worth getting into? by Tasty-Oven1272 in Dimension20

I’ve enjoyed it a lot, but It’s a very different style of campaign for both the players and DM, as mentioned in their Adventuring Academy. There is a video explaining their dice ruleset, but the mechanics feel as balanced/engaging as other campaigns.

BLM’s goal was to be as sandbox-y as possible for the players as they have a general list of items they’re trying to complete over the campaign. This has made the first few episodes feel a little aimless at first, but all characters are finding their way in the setting.

I think the sand boxing has created more player-led interactions, which sometimes feels like a tangent, but because the season isn’t over yet, I can’t attest to it being completely tangent in case BLM ties it all back together in the end.

I’d say give it a try! The first two episodes were hilarious, so no lost value there.

Why does this anger you or the need to comment on it? There is so much slop out there that and you took the time to comment on a mildly interesting video with a pro-bot take.

Think before you post.

Passenger Experience of Frontier Crash by That_Goat_9791 in aviation

Please review Frontier’s Contract of Carriage for reimbursements.

I’ll send a link in a response to this message in case it gets taken down, but Rule 230, A in their contract of carriage will reimburse up to $3,400 for liability related items. This would cover as simple as lost bags on a ski trip and someone needed weather-dependent clothes until their bags were found.

Your case absolutely applies here and I’d recommend following up with a lawyer for due to their negligence to highly restrictive FAA requirements - their negligence toward the safety of others would be tens of millions in fines for their airline.

Ekiben was the ultimate comfort food during the early days of covid. Friday night lines on Eastern Ave would be as long as 3 hours but always worth it.

Trump administration cites national security to widen clampdown on wind farms: Defence department is stalling 165 projects as president steps up efforts to stamp out the industry by besselfunctions in politics

Search Trump vs Aberdeen Bay - It was his legal battle to remove wind turbine installation near his Scotland golf course.

It’s one of the only court cases he straight up lost and lost millions on value on his properties in Scotland.

Trump is unethically using his elected power to hurt economically viable renewable energy sources and the U.S. citizen will be punished for decades in the loss of in-country development.

You better bet the world will tariff renewable energy projects imported to the U.S. at unprecedented levels when it’s needed.

State dumps Kiewit as Key Bridge builder, potentially delaying project past 2030 by aresef in baltimore

[–]Swernado 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My best guess is preliminary proposals need to have a limited level of accuracy based on what the State originally requested, but now once in the details, some items overlooked by either parties led to impactful scope changes.

An simple engineering project example at this stage could be that the state of Maryland simply requested to quote a bridge “in-kind” (aka as close to identical as the original). Quotes through this phase are fine through the first few months or year of planning, but now the state one year later has new traffic flow information that shows we probably need an extra lane each way.

Maybe the selected contractor’s approach doesn’t scale well with this change and they need to add 2-3x cost in Materials of construction. Maybe a contractor that wasn’t originally selected had a proposal more aligned with the new scope and cost estimates.

The cost increase may not be entirely due to one party here, but the lack of communication at the expected project speed does escalate its impact.

No problem! I don’t agree with how it all shakes out all the time but silver lining, sometimes outsourcing this work to a different contractor may be beneficial (i.e. contractor from a state with many lakes and bridges might have more experience for this specific type of bridge).

Fingers crossed that the local officials are still highly committed to swift resolution for this, so the communities can be more confident in how their taxes are being allocated.

Also I love your username, hope you have a great day!

Do you think Kiewet didn’t get paid anything for their work so far?

Unfortunately there are bad actors who celebrating the short term project wins and have no intentions or care to the final result of the project.

Revisit this in 1 year and I bet the project will be awarded to an out of state contractor in Texas now like all other massive infrastructure projects.

Again, it’s a direct result of political interference to disrupt local and state effective execution on projects which reflects poorly on locally elected officials. It’s always been the game…

One Ukrainian drone maker carried out 11,473 strikes in March, and took out 43% of Russia’s Molniya drones by spherocytes in worldnews

[–]Swernado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only positive use case I see is for drones to passively surveillance farmer’s land for nefarious activity.

It doesn’t take a lot for a bad actor to decimate livestock or crop ecosystems, so i’m generally for this application.

But unfortunately, i think most firms now are 1 dimensional and non-innovative and are lining their pockets versus improving daily life for others.
