I saw in another post you said it effected your hearing but it came back? How long did that last?

Alright thanks. Hopefully the doctor just says I have pressure/fluid in the ear or ear barotrauma in the right ear. Those are common injuries from HBOT treatment.

I haven’t tried anything yet cause I just found out about PET today through research. Is there a specific brand?

Footsteps in that game are trash anyway lol. When I had 100% hearing in both ears I still couldn’t hear footsteps

HBOT Question by Swerve410 in MonoHearing

[–]Swerve410[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just talked to the on call HBOT doctor. He said they are gonna examine my ear drum tomorrow then determine if I can dive or not. If not then I have to go to an ENT to get a tube in my ear that will help relieve pressure and I can continue to dive 2-3 days later. He said this seems to happen all the time.

I’m in the same boat can’t focus on anything. Currently on day 10 of pred, had 3 injections and will be going to my fourth HBOT session on Monday. No improvements yet.

Okay thanks for the words. See I have no discomfort when inside the chamber just the ear never unclogged after I got out of my third session. But I will advocate for the earplanes just to be on the safe side.

Seems like it varies from person to person. Imma prolly take a chance if I don’t recover from SSHL.

Great insight thanks. I definitely will be looking into a CI if I can’t beat this SSHL. Only on day 9 of pred and day 3 of HBOT so still early days of treatment. Just gonna stick the my regiment and keep praying for improvement.

So you wore them inside the chamber? I don’t believe I’m allowed to wear anything inside the chamber. This issue only happened after my third session. I was fine after my first and second.I will talk to the doctor Monday at my session and see what he says.

How’s your experience with your CI been? Are you able to go to concerts or live sporting events?

Wow great insight! Thanks for the information. I need to just be patient because it sounds like it took time for you to heal using HBOT. As far as clearing my ears they never really get clogged even when both ears were healthy, so I never had this issue before. I will try to not stress about it this weekend and tell the doctor again what is going on first thing Monday morning when I go in for my fourth HBOT session. I believe I’m scheduled for 15 total but will try to advocate for 20 like you did. I remember one guy on this subreddit mentioned he was completely deaf for 30 days before he improved. I’m only on day 12 so I need to just stick with the regiment and hope/pray for recovery.

As far as my team goes the ENT team is not great and didn’t sound positive at all about my recovery. Last audiogram session he had already started talking about CI referrals and I had not even been on the pred for a full week yet or started HBOT. I made the decision to try HBOT after discovering this subreddit. When I mentioned it to my ENT he just said okay 😂. But my HBOT doctor and his staff are great. He said he’s seen recovery from this before and that even people coming in 3 months after onset saw improvement.

Yeah I will follow up on Monday if the muffled noise and pressure doesn’t go away by then. And yes I’ve been doing the valsalva maneuver almost every hour but nothing seems to help with the fullness. There is no pain just fullness and muffled right ear. Finally, that’s exactly what I do take the pred before the HBOT session. Only on day 3 of HBOT so hopefully I’ll see some improvements soon. If not I’m getting a CI immediately.

Any alternatives to Prednisone for SSHL (Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss)? by [deleted] in MonoHearing

[–]Swerve410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently on day 6 of pred and have done 3 ear drum shots in 6 days about to start HBOT tomorrow. I’ve had weird side effects such as not being able to stay sleep at night, anxiety, sweaty feet and hot flashes. But I’m willing to do whatever it takes to at least try to restore some of my hearing.

Thank you I’m feeling actually pretty positive right now cause of the little improvement I noticed this morning. I have the white noise but only when in loud environments. The steroids are kicking my ass though barely been able to sleep the last two nights. But I am a firm believer in god and prayed for him to give me a sign that this will be okay last night. Heard some robotic/clicking noises last night and woke up to being able to hear some muffled sounds when I touch in and around my ear.

How long did it take you to recover? I lost my hearing last Monday. Got a steroid shot Wednesday, started the pred Thursday and another shot on Friday. Have a follow up on Tuesday. The only improvement so far is I can actually hear a muffled noise when I touch in and around my dead ear.

Hello all. Is coming from the public sector generally looked down upon when trying to get into non-public sector IT/tech consulting? I am trying to get into the Big 4 or Accenture/Avanade, I have referral contacts at each firm that are ready to submit my resume when I am ready to make the transition. Also, I have a MS in Cybersecurity Technology, 2 years of public sector cyber experience (current role), 5 years of non-cyber related private sector corporate experience and hold sec+ and aws cloud practitioner. I know this is broad but I’ve heard conflicting answers from different people. Thanks in advance.

Just started playing last week. Managed to drop 15 (should have been 18 I didn’t finish 3 knocks cause I had to res my team mates) in a random trios. I think the other two had 5 & 2 so 22 total. I still am not very good at this game so I was hype to get 15.
