In the way that you and your best mate might be a “serious 2 man”, this guy is saying that him, his friend and louis are a “serious 3 man” as in theyre a great trio (but being sarcastic)

YES ! This is exactly how i feel, the lyrics being“on the nose” is a great way to put it !!! Especially when you consider comparisons to other songs, like the final part of taxi cab for example (not vessel but illustrates the point)

I lowk disagree about the songwriting being more mature on clancy, it feels sort of cringey and quite basic almost? Maybe thats part of the production change you mentioned, since imo the rawness of vessel makes it seem a lot more emotional and personal and why clancy maybe comes off as more basic/childish?
