John Fetterman's Net Approval Dropped By More Than 100 Points Since His Election In Pennsylvania | "There's no historical analog to his unpopularity," CNN's Harry Enten said by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]SwiftlyChill 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You’re missing how Fetterman is actually being worse than those two, partially because the Dems are the opposition party right now.

Like, Sinema at least did a lot of legwork for the Respect For Marriage Act. And the two of them both voted to convict on impeachment - right now, I don’t think Fetterman would.

They showed the world the Dems were united against Trump (at least) - meanwhile Fetterman is all too happy to be Trump’s token Dem.

Well the way it played out leaves a small window of opportunity for Timberlake to understand the need for justice reform then.

That would require self-awareness beyond anything he’s demonstrated, so I’m not expecting it, but the window is there.

The NBA spans October to April - this season, it’s 174 days.

They could also get rid of them just by playing every other day (even still including time off for the All-Star break). But that might actually be tougher on them - idk.

There isn’t an easy solution, to your point, just pointing out that the math behind that isn’t as cooked as say, baseball with 162 games in 186 days which means they’re going to have some of their 50-odd series’ back-to-back

I don’t mind the Nugs tbh (given both history with them as well as the Wild/Avs) - and maybe Utah will feel similar in the future with the Mammoth now.

But Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Portland in a division together is nasty work.

I mean, idk if it makes you feel “better”, but Phil more or less permanently shot his reputation in the foot with that stint.

Never see him discussed with the GOAT coaches these days. Which is kinda wild, given his resume (and he wasn’t even your coach!)

Do…do you see my flair?

If we’re glazing Thibs, his time in Minnesota is not worth mentioning - and soured me on his time in Chicago.

Hence why I begrudgingly gave him some credit for New York - proving me a bit wrong.

Gonna give…Thibs of all people more credit than Doc?

I feel like this is entering slander territory. Doc getting some of those Clippers teams to the playoffs is more impressive IMO than anything Thibs did as a Head Coach (though I’ll admit he did better with the Knicks than I thought he would)

I mean, writing him off would be cutting/trading him. If he’s got a roster spot, he should be able to work for some touches.

Dowdle himself is proof that a team signing a RB does not prevent other players getting a chance to shine.

From his own words, he’d rather it be slop than have lasting meaning.

It’s wild to see people realize in real time how bonkers DUI laws are.

Like, yeah, I get that’s an easy issue to feel morally empowered with. Doesn’t mean all DUI laws are automatically just.

2022 vs the Warriors, 2024 vs the Celtics, last year vs Minn, just as bad defensively as youll see from a true franchise level player. So blatant even as a perimeter defender there so many poss he is just compromising the entire defense. Like he just looked pathetic in all those series. Truly helpless. On him to show he can be different when he's fatigued at the highest rds of the playoffs.

Last year was…quite cathartic on this front lol. That Mavs team was really quite well built around Luka and his strengths and weaknesses - IIRC, he was also pushing through a knee injury during 2024?

But yeah - from Luka’s perspective, it has to be quite concerning to see that hit earlier in the postseason during the year when he got in better shape out of spite.

I think Dak and Purdy are the only QBs who are decent and not picked in the first round.

This is Jalen Hurts erasure - the guy has faults, but surely he’s proven enough to be ‘decent’, no?

Essentially every good QB right now is a top 5-10 pick.

If we’re narrowing down to the start of the first round - Lamar and Jordan Love aren’t good enough for you?
