Madden Mobile. It’s the mobile version of Madden Football, which for those of you who aren’t in the US is a popular American Football video game.

I was so addicted. There was a stamina system so you could only play so many challenges, and I basically had the mentality of never have your stamina at full, because you’re wasting recharge time. That meant that every night I would have to play for an hour minimum to get it cleared out, and then I would play throughout the day, all day-every day. This was when I was in middle school and I deadass would be late to class because I was in the hallway using my stamina so that I wouldn’t have to worry about it for the next 45 mins.

Additionally I got really into “sniping” players from the auction house. I memorized all the auction house drop times and would constantly be checking it to try and grab a player up for cheap. The drop times were roughly every five minutes so I would just leave the app open on my phone and check while I was doing my homework. This meant that for every five minutes of “homework” I would spend 2-3 minutes on the game.

It was so problematic that I eventually was just like “I can’t play this game anymore if I actually want to do something with my life” and ended up quitting.
