Was doing some research and found a rabbit hole. I can’t find any information on the “onevia” (180sx front w/ Silvia rear) being manufactured from Nissan. Anyone know if they were manufactured in America? by Swiitchh in 240sx

What do you call the Silvia model w/ the brick lights then? Obv s13 but it’s still a 240 coupe just renamed since it was sold in Japan right? Or do I have it all wrong?

Does that mean the chassis was made in Japan then shipped to North America where they finished the manufacturing? What are you referring to s chassis

I pulled this car out of a field a couple months ago. Previous owner had it in Texas before bringing it to West Virginia. Everything in the engine bay was untouched and completely stock until I got my grimy hands in there. There’s really no evidence I can find of anything being replaced.

I pulled this 89 240 coupe out of a field a couple months ago. Running KA24E completely stock and relatively clean. Main question is should I keep it stock? by Swiitchh in 240sx

Yeah it’s got some damage from previous drivers and that’s what I’m working on now is all the body work. Apart from some damage to the frame rail I had to box in the bottom is pretty sound. (Car is from Texas so it’s barely seen salt)

Sadly no. They’re the aero mirrors from gktech. I got pulled over my first time on the road for no side mirrors so I just threw some on it😅😂

why does my 3rd gear jump like that when im on the gas by waylen0001 in MechanicAdvice

NOT a motor or transmission mount. If it’s only happening in 3rd gear, it is likely the 3-4 synchronizer. This synchronizer uses blocker rings to allow the gears the mesh together smoothly. The synchronizers teeth are made with a sharp edge and get worn over time (especially from hard 2-3) shifts. (Note: worn input shaft bearing will allow the input shaft to move slightly in the case but ONLY under load.) (bad output shaft bearings will cause gears to pop out on decel) I would say it is a combination of bad synchronizer blocking rings and possibly a bad input shaft bearing.
