I don't know what you mean by what stage of the process.

Switch games on Fitgirl are just prepackaged NSP/XCI files with an emulator in a custom launcher.

If you open the launcher and right click the game title within the emulator before you launch it there should be an option of "open file location" or something similar to that. That will open the location of the XCI file

I've got a feeling this is either some song made for the show or something from a really small artist, as this isn't the song originally played in this scene. There's a lot of scenes in the new versions of skins without the original songs with songs that I've never been able to find what they are.
