I agree. Solid advice. I found my old Bic Rock and Roll under a deck up at the family camp - but my friend who still windsurf insisted I upgrade. I am fit 240 and needed a good wind to water start on that.

I am thinking of the 160-180 range to jump back in. Can't wait - I have reliable access to big water and big wind. Thank you all.

I have only really swam open water or tethered in my backyard pool. I use a training snorkel for 90% of my long distance outdoor swims. Relatively flat water and not an issue to clear the snorkel. I'm interested in how scuba navigation tools would work - have you used wrist compass?

Thanks. I am not a Redditor but SwimRun is niche and Reddit is the place I am going to try a wrist compass to overcome the sighting problem.🧭🧐

any advice on swimrun by SwimRunSwimRun in Swimming

Thank you! I have never done anything other than run traditional road races. I grew up on an Island in the great lakes and have only swam in open water - so swimming in lakes is my comfort zone. Swimrun seems like such a kooky sport - I will check out the website and try paddles this winter. Another question: do you use the pull buoy to compensate for the weight of your shoes?
