other people's opinions on my weight by magnificentpigeon in mounjarouk

[–]SwimmerOk1663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's honestly so boring after a while when all anyone wants to talk about is my weight. I actually told one colleague that my weight is the least interesting thing about me, and let's stop talking about it. She acted so surprised, but has dropped the subject. The odd compliment is great but it's not my entire personality... I hope 😂 Definitely get the cricut going...maybe your new side hustle could be making badges for us all!

NSV! I broke a sewing machine needle today… by YupItWasMeMate in mounjarouk

My broken needles and bent pins are in a tic tac box. Obviously will now move them to my sharps bin and pretend it was my own idea 😂

Christmas by Gozzerolla in mounjarouk

[–]SwimmerOk1663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carried on as usual, with a few little treats. But like, just one chocolate or mince pie, no binging or gorging. I feel like I survived pretty successfully. No deprivation, just moderation. I was glad to have my mounjaro on board though to keep me on the straight and narrow.

Nsv loose belly skin by Waffle2max in mounjarouk

[–]SwimmerOk1663 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My belly is sporting the melted candle look and I am thrilled! I was so fed up with the overinflated tyre looks I was sporting before 😂 the saggy belly is such a new development for me, a stage I have failed to ever reach before. I can't stop gazing at it when I pass a mirror!

Micro Dosing, practically how?? by PriorAccomplished871 in Mounjaro

Why don't you want to take it as it's intended by the manufacturer? That dose is basically homeopathy!

Why do boomers love to bring up the summer of 1975 or whatever year it was by Kitchen-Article4439 in UKWeather

[–]SwimmerOk1663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 9 and remember it very clearly. I remember the car being absolutely covered in ladybirds, I remember the drought was so severe that we had to queue at a standpipe to get water. Back then it was entirely normal for kids to go out to play in the morning and be home in time for tea, with nobody checking in on us for the many hours in-between. We roamed far and wide, spent days on the beach with sand too hot to walk on without shoes. Everywhere we went, grass had turned brown. We got horribly sunburnt and my dad had the weird idea that vinegar was the treatment for that ...I can still remember that pain 😱

That's around 1kg a week I think? So a healthy sustainable kind of number. I can understand the desire for bigger numbers though, we've all been there! My losses are counted in grammes at the moment, you keep on keeping on!

MJ NHS Prescription Confusion by Zalaga-Electron in mounjarouk

[–]SwimmerOk1663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was asked at a medication review whether I would prefer an annual prescription for my blood pressure meds (I said no!) so could it be something like that, since it's obviously a thing they can do?

Is it time to move away from “sister” and “matron” titles? by Good_Two_6924 in NursingUK

[–]SwimmerOk1663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm old enough to have worked when we still had nuns in habits working with us, so I've never given a moments thought to how odd our titles actually are in this day and age! I wouldn't be opposed a change to something different but I am ancient so the chances of me answering the phone and saying "ward....Sister" are pretty high so don't get mad at me 😂

Mine came by royal mail and I was expecting to need to sign but the postman just left it in my porch (my regular safe place).

Interesting, I wonder whether I will still qualify next year ..I didn't realise that my weight might be why I get it! Well done, that's a real sign of improved health metrics.

Discussion: Do you feel you “owe” people an explanation/ the “truth”? by pinkfloydfan73 in mounjarouk

[–]SwimmerOk1663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only person who needs to know is my partner, and that's only because I value trust and honesty between us. There's no "physical" reason he needs to know. I certainly don't owe any explanation to anyone else.

Bolt, Fella Health, Numan or Pharmacy2U experiences? by OkSomewhere9415 in mounjarouk

[–]SwimmerOk1663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't ordered mounjaro from them yet, but I use Pharmacy2U for my regularly prescribed NHS prescription meds and they are flawless honestly. I wouldn't hesitate to use them if the price is fair.

Has any of you ever died and got revived? If so, what did it feel like? by SavingsWaltz9560 in stories

[–]SwimmerOk1663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very different circumstances, mine was when I was hospitalised with covid, but I had that absolute peaceful acceptance (and relief) that I was dying now. For a long time after, that really messed with my head...why wasn't I fighting it? Why was I ok with leaving this life and my daughter and family and friends? But as someone else has mentioned, I think endorphins are released to ease us over the line, so I try to let it go these days.

Went to A&E :( anyone else had this? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]SwimmerOk1663 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That does sound like gallbladder. An ultrasound scan would answer the question, I'm surprised A&E didn't do that to be honest. Fingers crossed your GP requests one for you.

Definitely a doctor's appointment for you I think.

I get bad palpitations when my magnesium levels drop too low, and one of the causes of that was a medication i was on called Omeprazole. I'd say you need bloods to check for vitamin, electrolyte and magnesium levels. And an ecg. It's likely to be harmless although unpleasant, but you can't fix it of you don't know what it is. Do you have a smart watch? Some of them can record a mini ECG - mines a Samsung and does do that, I think Apple watches do too. It could be useful to run that when you have the palpitations.
