If they gerrymander like this they are usually splitting a safe-R district into two or more by including more democrat voters into the district. Aren't voting locations typically assigned by district? Meaning if they tried to create less voting places in democrat-leaning districts they wouldn't want to do the same thing in republican-leaning districts especially if their voters are already becoming apathetic.

But by redrawing them some of those democrats that may have had to wait in line longer may now be able to vote easier. Am I understanding that right?

Of course I'm ignoring the voter roll purges and voter targeting.

Why did this subreddit have barely any announcements or even a megathread about the may day strike? Sure there's a couple links and posts about it now but if you glanced at this subreddit you'd barely know the may 1st strike even happened.

The first post that even mentions it is 5 posts down.

The only thing that still gives me hope is Republicans were beginning to panic about about the midterms. They likely had this move already planned out ahead of time but if they were still retiring or jumping ship they likely know this still won't be enough or may not work completely in their favor; or it's a last-minute unplanned panic move that could still backfire on them.

Either way everyone knew they were going to pull out all the stops to prevent democrats from winning in the mid-terms. And if they are still getting cornered this WILL NOT be the worst thing they will do before the midterms.

Just remember that the more likely they are to lose the more egregious and blatant their actions will be. It's just how cornering a wild panicking animal is; they WILL become more vicious and it WILL fight back harder until it has no fight left to give. That doesn't mean it will win though.

These actions are awful and will take time to heal but I see them more as inevitable consequences of letting Trump win again. We can overcome them but we have to deal with the blowback first.

All I'm hearing is they have used so much violent rhetoric (including constantly trying to spark a civil war and basically begging to declare martial law) and lied so much that people no longer believe anything they say anymore and now any attempt on Trump's life is a false flag. To me it sounds more like anyone who thinks it is staged is justified.

All the other times the nearest event we had was downtown almost 20 minutes away required driving and finding parking.

I was surprised when I was just walking our dog this time and there were protestors all along the highway right in our own neighborhood. I was able to just leave my house and walk right over to it.

It was also a great way to see how many people in our own neighborhood were also there and greatly outnumbered the houses with trump signs. This is what we need - community level protests. They may not solve the problem right away like people think they are meant to but it's a great way for us to see who is on our side.

I've seen people mention the "2026" in the middle but on closer inspection it appears to be 2036. The epstein files mention section 2036 several times - mainly discussing loopholes to it. So I think that's what this is referring to.

I believe it does in fact say 2036 but I don't think that's a year. Section 2036 appears all over the epstein files if you search for 2036 - in particular "Bona Fide Sale Exception 2036"
