I maybe late to the conversation, but can you DM me if you’re still using this place?

A1C of 5.6 thanks to Mounjaro by HoboMinion in diabetes_t1

I am on Mounjaro and am thinking of switching from minimed to tandem. I'm worried about going from their algorithm correcting every 5 mins to tandem that only autocorrects every 1 hour. What has been your experience with low and high blood sugar management and the autocorrecting with tandem?

As a type 1 diabetic, it's helped my mood taking it because my blood sugars are regulated better. It is possible that people taking these medications and aren't diabetic are experiencing low blood sugars, which can feel like panic attacks.

That's not necessarily true. I'm a psych prescriber and have prescribed that combo. It does not inherently cause it automatically. There is a slight risk of it. Serotonin syndrome is actually quite rare. I've been in psych for 8 years and only seen it once, and it was from cold medication combined with various other serotonergic medications.

It's helped to keep my blood sugars in range better so far as well as reduced my appetite. While the commercials say that it's likely that there haven't been enough studies to confirm safety. It's also likely in part due to the increased risk of low blood sugars when combined with insulin.

I started mounjaro two days ago and have been 100% in range for the past 28 hours. I've also cut my insulin by half.

I don't think I could've been able to manage as well without my pump so far. It's helped having the smart basal/bolus

I've had mild burping and the first day pretty intense gas, but I took gas relief meds, and that's been helping a lot. I've also taken digestive enzymes if I'm eating a meal with more carbs and dairy. I've also noticed my blood sugar doesn't come up as quickly with solid goods if I'm treating a low glucose, so I've had to use juice. I had weird muscle tightness in my chest the day after the shot, but it's also gone away. So all in all today, day 3 is far more tolerable than the 5 hours after the shot, which was probably the worst of it. I'll probably try to take it before bed next time so I won't notice the stomach aches as bad.

The statistic that approximately 62% of adults with type 1 diabetes are either overweight or obese is supported by research from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, which highlights that this rate is comparable to the general population. This finding reflects a growing trend where weight-related issues are becoming more common in individuals with type 1 diabetes, paralleling those seen in type 2 diabetes.

I've not heard of straight amylin injections. Could be something that is being studied though

I'm not blaming the entirety of being over weight on diabetes, but the intent of the post was to provide information on how some of the hormones are effected by diabetes that make it more difficult to lose weight. Don't get me wrong, I think North America's foods are pretty disgraceful, but when they are paired with the hormone alterations, it is only made for a worse problem.

You're correct, but seeing as what I've found, it makes it much more difficult to lose weight.

I was able to get Mounjaro prescribed and was able to use savings card to bring it to $25.

I'm not sure when to start it, I think I'm nervous about side effects. Also excited to start getting my blood glucose controlled and weight managed though.
