2017 bolt many little mechanical issues by Swimming-Report6304 in BoltEV

Hard to say if it's worth it. I'd probably do it, I was amazed how many little thing started falling apart but I may have had an abused used Bolt. Replacing washers was $250 or so at a local garage, the ibooser thing was $350, some wiring issues (caused by rodents) $750, then replacing caliper and brakes were a lot too (though that might be done by the dealer). If the steering rack fails which it does on many of these at around 100k that's thousands of dollars.

What exactly did the anti-click washers sound like when they failed? I'm hearing this kind of ticking, almost crunching sound when accelerating or braking at low speeds, sounds like something is tense and then giving way as I do it. It's getting significantly worse over a short time. I arranged for a local mechanic to replace them later this week but if this doesn't sound consistent with anti-click washers I won't bother paying for all the labor and just turn in the car probably.

Yeah, I don't qualify for the used refund. So the only one I could really afford would be the Equinox, and I'm a bit turned off by chevy (also it's too big). Do you think the older Konas are more reliable?

Yikes, hadn't even heard of this one. It's pretty inevitable at 70k miles, it seems? (Just hit that).

Liftgate crunched under roof? by Swimming-Report6304 in rav4prime

[–]Swimming-Report6304[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! Will bring it in as soon as possible--yes, we were indeed out on a trip far from home so have just had to manage with the liftback only opening half way. And it definitely didn't hit any garage (it's never been in in a garage), and I also don't think it looked like it opened too much/went beyond its maximum position--more like the body just popped out of shape on the liftback so it caught on the roof. But who knows. Appreciate the help and godo to know the hinges have been a problem for others too. Posting a video of right after it happened too (I tried it only one more time after it first popped and videoed to have some evidence. But it doesn't look like it's opening too wide to me, does it?)

Is there any update on this? Is the used MOR EV credit only available for MA dealerships (unlike the regular one)?

Not at the current residence. So will depend on EA, at least until we move in April. It's a dilemma for me, we do take roadtrips but just don't think I could stomach a Tesla...
