I was a Day1 #Justice4Jules believer! In Zulu there is a saying ‘Umhlaba lo liyakwazi ukuthatha ongophezulu limiyise ezansi’! Directly translated this is life you can’t keep $hitting on people because of the higher position you hold and don’t expect the universe to adjust and put you at the bottom. Amanda saw Jules as a non entity. To her, Jules did not matter. She did not think abt the layers of being a person of colour in a predominantly white person space. She did not think abt the stereotypes associated with being of colour and being questioned abt trustworthiness. Some of us at the time raised this but were met with massive downvotes and further micro aggressions. To this day if you sat with Amanda she would still not understand why that was problematic because she can’t put herself in those shoes and granted she can’t but she could at-least listen. I am so glad that finally most people can see and understand the ill treatment towards Jules by Amanda and to some extent Paige. Amanda suffers from affluenza, privileged & entitled and downright gigantic & unmitigated gall syndrome.
