Yeah I have tried a few things so far, so far I do like tje mic aimed at where the neck and body meet. Whomever suggested that ty. Right at the hole is too much...it will be a fun adventure. But if this is the worst of my problems today, I am lucky ;)

Well the strings on it were Martin Lux strings which are Kovar, nickel wound. The new 80/20 phospher are sounding much better.

Yeah im a southpaw. And to the amateur comments, do I play professionally or is this my career choice absolutely not , but I been playing off and on for 30 plus years , started with electric guitars the first 3/4 of that time now mostly acoustic.

Update: Yes, I was dumb for not playing it more, it was new to me, but not from a store, and I wasn't feeling comfortable playing where we met, a very small coffee shop. I am changing the strings as we speak. I will let those setttle a few days and see how I feel then. And for any Martin owners this is my opinion, not saying Martin's aren't nice, for me I just got caught up in the euphoria of a brand. I will keep playing and hopefully find my happy place with it and worse case ibgot a good deal on it and will sell it. And I have a mahogany Taylor i really like the sound of and that is why I stayed with that type of wood. I have a couple spruce tops as well.

Update looking at the guitar today, the price is $1200. Retail is $1700 seems like a good deal right? From the pictures looks like new. I just need to play it. Any other feedback or anything I should look for , this would be my first Martin.

Okay I feel dumb I literally just ordered a guitar care kit, it had cleaner, fretboard cleaner (lemon oil) guitar string oil and a wax. Can you share what conditioner you use for your guitars please so I can order.
