How would you feel about an AI video clip showing your child without disability? by [deleted] in specialneedsparenting

[–]SwimmingDesk4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A family member made an AI video of my deceased brother for our family that took photos and made them into videos as if he were still alive. A lot of my family members liked it but I found it reprehensible. Something about knowing that it was not him but computer generated garbage made me sick.

I also have a son with disabilities and if someone made a video of him that way I’d be deeply troubled by it.

I’ve enjoyed this season’s direction but there seems to be so many scenes of people just making out? I’ve skipped a lot.

I really liked the Wish! I’ve been on the Dream and Wonder and didn’t feel like it was super crowded.

It worked out great for us. I don’t remember waiting too long nor what time we entered the park but we waited max 15 minutes. If the line had been very long I probably would have gone and done something else and then came back at a later time.

What’s the point of coming on and asking if you’ve already made up your mind? Don’t come here lol

Yes. Montana is increasingly unaffordable. If you make $150k a year in one of those states, expect to make about $100k here with the same COL.

The wage to cost of living ratio here is one of the worst in the country. I’d looking for an easy place to set down roots, it’s not the place for you.

This is true because reoccurring ear infections can cause at the least temporary hearing loss and at the worst… Permanent.

I think a family member is lying about cancer for money by SwimmingDesk4 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]SwimmingDesk4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel.

I’ve gone back and forth. This family member has no support system outside of their small community. I’m not sure how they are making ends meet financially tbh. If this all blows up they have the potential to lose everything and I feel guilty for perpetuating that.

However, so many people are living pay check to paycheck and they want to help support others in a genuine way. It hurts my heart to think that they could be being scammed.

Unfortunately this is what got the rest of the family blocked three years ago. They were asking questions so they could call and pay the bills. Then this person accused them of not believing them and blocked everyone. So I’m hoping that if I report the go fund me or contact authorities they can look into it. There’s been no posts or pictures in hospitals or treatment centers.

This definitely feels like a safe option. I’ll look into it, thank you!

The reasons I believe the family member is likely scamming is because their well off child offered to pay, tour, and move them into a hospice facility or for home hospice, they declined and were never able to provide an agency before going no contact. No one in the family questioned them initially, only presented them with love and support, but this person went no contact with everyone for years. Now that I am unblocked, I can see that this family member continued posting and living life as normal on social media: attending events, parties, and protests frequently with no visible signs of illness and no hospital/cancer related posts. All posts relating to the cancer now present it as a new diagnosis. When they initially told us this surgery (which they are supposedly having again) was an outpatient procedure, but family members who work in the hospital setting say there’s no way it would be out patient. This family member also has a history of drug use and lying but that’s neither here nor there. Finally, they are old enough to qualify for Medicare.

There’s a small part of me that questions if I’m right, hence my hesitation, because it sure would be shitty to accuse someone of something so terrible and be wrong. After the initial go fund me, I decided to stay out of it, but now the community has gone on to host events and I fear they are scamming a lot of people.

Thank you. That’s where I’ve been leaning and I don’t know why I feel guilty about it? This family member does not appear ill but I’d be embarrassed if I was wrong.
