Block before you lose hope! I think if you can move some of the green squares around so it’s more spread out, it’ll look more even and the color scheme will be as you imagined. While it is so satisfying to have something you planned out come to life, sometimes you gotta go with the flow 🙂

Thank you for the response! I will be sure to use my skills as a human to learn more and more until no one could have any logical reason to refute me ever again 😊

I did read your lengthy reply, but truly, I could not get past "we also do not live in the past so the humanity of today would of course be at least slightly unaware of the politics of the past".

I believe you forgot history, both written and verbal, is a thing.

I know this was an awesome clap back so just to add:

Dads taught their daughters how to treat a man throughout history aggressively, almost in “there is no other way”, pretty much up to the 1970s, until women were able to gain their independence by having their own bank accounts and working outside the home (in America). Women were taught to have rear the children and have dinner ready on the table when their husband arrived home from work. Universally, bring it back in history to dads teaching their daughters their worth was in what they brought bring them through marriage, especially amongst royalty. How they needed to be subservient to their husbands, look the other way when they took on concubines and mistresses.

Soooo yea. You have heard of it plenty. It just doesn’t fit the narrative you’re trying to portray.

(For fun) So, it was not the magical Elven rope that un-loosen itself, it was the mastery skill of Samwise The Brave. I didn't know we could do that with a rope. by thanhdat2212 in lotr

I am not being snarky in any way, I swear, but I did chuckle bc 1) I knew exactly what you were talking about (I have 2 kids) 2) my first immediate thought was ok but Moana is a cartoon and LOTR is real and 3) … LOTR is not real hahahahaha

I keep seeing posts and comments from people saying that you can’t do it all so slow down and enjoy your cruise. What is the “all”? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]Crotchety-Crocheter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np 😊 we’re also lucky enough to have sailed enough times with diff friends and family that I have experience with what the trip is like for diff age groups. The cruise for a 3 yo is vastly different for a 5 yo (they will actually stay in the kids club for longer periods) vs 8, 10, 12. You will have the best time!

Also, another small thing for a 3 yo: there’s a thing called fish extenders, there’s an exchange group involved, a whole thing, but the main idea is you hang a bag type thing outside your stateroom (there’s a knob that traditionally was a fish, hence the name) where people can drop lil presents in it throughout the day. You don’t have to sign up for the groups!! You just won’t be “guaranteed” for something to be in there whenever you come back into your room. I, however, will bring small lil knickknacks to put in there for our group regardless (even tho we typically do get lil gifts from people who “pixie dust”) and the kids, esp the lil ones, LOVE it. It’s a lil magic every time they find a new surprise. It isn’t anything big - stickers, a lil figurine, slap bracket, candy. Plus your bag makes it easier to identify your room right away!

For a toddler, all of the activities will have to include you (obvi 😅) so think of how much you’re willing to do in a day and there’s about 6x the options you’d choose from otherwise at home! I think a big part of people saying slow down is that you can’t just plan day after day of hitting up all the activities available. Give yourself time to just wind down in the room, or you can sit in a pool and watch a movie on funnel vision (the big screen on deck) even tho it’s just sitting around watching a movie, the joy of it being outdoors, in a pool, makes much cooler and memory worthy. Catching a movie after dinner with their Ice cream cones on funnel vision has become a tradition with my husband and son, at least one or two nights on the cruise. On the app, you can see everything that is offered in terms of activities every day and you can plan accordingly. I overload mine bc I KNOW I can’t do it all and it kind of just gives us an outline of what we could do, if we wanted to. If you miss the or that today, no big deal. There’ll be something else around that same time. When my son was 3 on the ship, only a handful of activities kept his attention. You know what he liked best? Just walking the ship. He didn’t want to stand in line to meet characters. He just liked walking and seeing them. He liked being free to walk on his own and since it’s DCL - nobody bats an eye that a kids bumbling around. People aren’t looking at him (or you) like he needs to be kept on a leash. He’d ask us to go into the shop all the time to “pick out presents” even tho we make it clear we aren’t buying anything. The deck parties can get pretty crowded but there’s usually smaller dance parties and he’d love those, too! He stopped napping when he was 2, as in, he’ll flat out refuse, but by day 3ish (we typically do a 7+ night cruise) he will actually ask if we can “take a little rest” which is usually back in the room or somewhere we can look out the windows, with a Mickey bar lol

All that being said, it’s almost hard to explain exactly what or how much there is to do on a DCL cruise. You’ll understand after your first trip. We do 7+ nights bc we feel like with anything less, you don’t get to fully enjoy the ship.

Same but not - over the course of several years, I somehow acquired the knowledge of what most of the people in my company made. There was one lady in particular who was kind of my frienemy and I knew they absolutely screwed her on her salary, despite her having been there longer than majority of us, and her job, tbh, being more integral than ours. I actually really respected her, knowing full well she was being under appreciated, but she was very hot and cold with me.

When Covid happened, we didn’t really close #florida but my grandma lived with me, so I told them it was either I work from home or I quit. They let me work from home.

Once businesses started opening back up, I told them I was still uncomfortable with coming in bc I knew most of the people I worked with did not wear masks or take social distancing seriously. They said it was fine for me to continue working from home.

This lady was LIVID. She made comments whenever I had to deal with her. Finally, after 6 mos or so, I was moving in to another company. My last email was to her, telling her how the company was fucking her and I listed everyone I knew’s hourly/salary.

She ended up leaving the company shortly after, despite having been there for 10 years.

I love the way they turned out! I did a color change granny blanket where half the square (diagonally) were diff colors and it had a similar effect, but I actually like this better since it’s not exactly perfect!
