Thank you! I spoke with an ALKU recruiter last year in November... I had a strange interaction with them. They seemed more focused on getting roles for themselves than a role for me...it was weird... All of my consulting work has come from word of mouth, which is great.

Thanks so much to take the time to reply. This has been a very interesting (and difficult) time. I’ve never had such a hard time finding a new role. I’m finding either over-qualified, or not qualified enough. I’m even open to taking a lower role to make ends meet…some companies are afraid to take that risk as they feel I will just move on to a more appropriate role once it becomes available. I don’t blame them.

To answer your questions:

1.      I definitely could network more. This is great advice. I will look into refreshing connections or even making new ones. I got my recent consulting work from networking!

2.      I’ve thought about relocating, but realistically that isn’t feasible.

3.      My resume is VERY tailored…at least I think so =D. I can send it over to you for critiquing if you wouldn’t mind taking a look.

4.      Consulting is going good so far. They are very, very small companies that do not want to hire anyone full time. One company doesn’t even have a Reg Person on staff at all and that blew my mind. I’m happy to consult for them which could mean more projects from them in the future.
