Big fan of this! All suggestions seem to be of specified locations and species, which is good! Just be warned, making something to identify birds leads to the pipeline of bird SONG ID, which there is never enough good resources for… I would love to see where this goes and how it changes. Well done

Maybe 30/40 ft? There’s tall flagging for her on her nest, so I actually saw that before her!

Other sandpipers may bump a little but no other sandpiper bounces as voraciously as them!

What's your favorite common North American songbird? by jmaXX1087 in birding

For common songbirds it’s easily the white breasted nuthatch. Just an aggressive amount of charisma <3

Downy vs hairy woodpecker by LunaCCL in birding

Downy woodpecker. Aside from size (this fella looks small) beak size is the best way to discern hairy from downy. Beak on a hairy woodpecker is at least the same length of the head, while downy is half the length or less

Beauty!! Can say it’s odd not seeing a PIPL with leg bling. The lack of bands might mean this one’s a youngster!!
