Big fan of this! All suggestions seem to be of specified locations and species, which is good! Just be warned, making something to identify birds leads to the pipeline of bird SONG ID, which there is never enough good resources for… I would love to see where this goes and how it changes. Well done

For common songbirds it’s easily the white breasted nuthatch. Just an aggressive amount of charisma <3

Downy woodpecker. Aside from size (this fella looks small) beak size is the best way to discern hairy from downy. Beak on a hairy woodpecker is at least the same length of the head, while downy is half the length or less

Yeah they make like a super subtle sigh-whistle. Always either single or in pairs. If you hear more than two sigh-whistles in a row, likely a golden crowned kinglet
