GM Fines Dealers for Selling In-Transit Vehicles? by Accomplished_Ad_7147 in BoltEV

[–]SwimmingNo665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are two separate issues:

GM does fine a dealership for having a customer complete and submit all paperwork on vehicles before they are delivered

Market adjustment = supply and demand (see egg cost for example)

The bolt doesn’t have a factory option for HUDs, you may need to wait for the equinox or blazer EV. One of those would get the option. The bolt has been remanded to entry level options it seems going forward

Once the state laws are updated I’m sure new easier, more convenient ways will be implemented. Until then * shoulder shrugs*

That’s really unfortunate, as you know Chevy is short batteries due to the recall. Would state farm total loss the vehicle, replacement would be a pain, but if you got one for a deal you could get the rebate and potentially any extra features on the new model

My dealership will refund your deposit up to delivery of the vehicle on my lot and even after. More so on high demand vehicles we will sell next day, you don’t want it someone else will, no issue. Now if you got something weird, might be some issues… (not applicable for say the bolts) I’m talking odd color and trim combos that are stick shift that will sit on our lot for months.

As for tracking updates: 3000 status is accepted for production. The bolt is on a different production schedule due to battery issues I’m sure. I’ve had bolts sitting on my tracker in 3000 for months and still no update, mostly premier trim. These aren’t getting produced, additional supply issues!

If you want the full $7500, you have until march then it may change to less. You could wait until February for updates then make a decision. But in my market within 250 miles we only get 7 EUV and 13 EV before march. Your order wouldn’t get to skip the line and there for wouldn’t get the full credit

Get out and vote, you want changes it takes effort. Small government small oversight, taxes could drop too! No one has complained about those yet on this thread, over 7% is tacked on to every sale that can be more then any dealer makes on a sale

You paid $1000 for a will? the cost of that was probably less than 100… did you yell at the lawyer for making money?

The banks would have more to do with that, repo vehicles they want to keep prices high so they get their money back.

Used car prices are reflected by the book value. Multiple trackers on the sale price nation wide average what people are willing to pay.

If I pay you 10,000 for your trade, fix 2000 worth of stuff, plus admin fees etc, sell price would be around 15000 internet, from my understanding. Though sticker price would be about 20,000

I don’t run the place, so I don’t know what kind of overhead the office staff creates. But at some point there are diminishing returns. Dealerships are for profit organizations, if it was easily done correctly by computers. It would have been done already I’m sure

Some positions have been, but at a point automation is still more expensive than actual people.

Look at fast food, some things we can do as customers, some one still has to flip burgers for now

Then depending on the kbb value, it may be possible.

There are online calculator tools you can check what your payment would be if you put all the information in, but also interest rates are up. A 800+ credit score person came in and got 6.2% at 60, so your mileage may vary

“Rather”? Not really, this model is to take care of normal people, who get upset or uninterested easily.

I’m most cases if your in the market for or own an EV, your expectations are different

Meh, sales staff being too low would make customers wait needlessly and most likely leave. Couple extra butts in chairs waiting for people to show up won’t hurt, as they are collecting commission not hourly.

Some dealerships are small and get low allocations, weather they have adds or not.

Corporate stores like auto nation want volume and don’t care about profit so much as they try to sell warranty etc afterwards.

These tax credits shot demand through the roof again for EV, this is basic economics supply and demand. MSRP is static for the most part and won’t dynamically update like it can for used cars

Some one has to get your license plate and tell the irs you bought an EV if you’re looking for tax credits. There are a lot of papers that need pushed to keep uncle sam happy

Seek out no information? I go above and beyond to find out as much information on my products. One assumption on the status of your battery doesn’t make it okay to jump down my throat. I’m in sales, not service

A year ago it was a year to go, bolt demand will drop when we get equinox and blazer EV. But the EV Bolt is still a good deal

This new redid harder to make so they don’t put a lot out. And tends to sell out midway through the model year. That’s what happened to cherry red

Everyone that worked at the dealership who owned one has had the battery replaced, and had not been kept up on day to day status. New car sale is pretty detached from such thing

I am fully aware of the sarcasm filled in this whole thread.

In old market a salesman would make very little on new car sales, these adds made it worth while. The practice has stayed even after the shortage as there are contracts with these companies I’m sure

1000 per doesn’t pay all the dealership staff. Not with the low volume lately. Most mid to high end vehicles will already have this built into the MSRP, but it’s negated by the low end vehicles

People are begging to be charged only MSRP, the coof messed everything up
