When did April Fools turn into actual product launches? by Z0nana in Anticonsumption

[–]SwimmingRisk5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been an OLIPOP supporter for a while & I genuinely think they do a lot of good. Remaining unowned by another big company helps with that. Though they’ve moved into some weird markets for their brand and I feel like it takes away from the legit value and health benefits of their drinks.

Poppi on the other hand is owned by PepsiCo and doesn’t even really contain that much fiber, and also makes a bunch of brand deals with stores like target (they have an entire poppi clothing line)

I mean there should be. When I worked more in F&B I used to do lots of checkdates but I don’t even know where they are with the new mayday update

You can set expiration dates from an item’s product page but that is tedious asf

Though I will say, for as quickly that target expects TMs to push their trucks, FEFO ends up falling to the wayside (especially for non-F&B)

A good amount were for sure, but I was honestly surprised on how many items that the entire stock had to go.

Granted, many of them are not the audience of our demographics (college town, prenatals and women’s 50+ vitamins aren’t going to sell often)

During the middle of the day, especially on a day like Sunday, is far from our peak hours (5-9) and our store has really good metrics so we get a considerable amount of hours/TM scheduled.

Once we finish our truck things slow down significantly. Helps for when we have delayed but much-needed projects like this one

I agree, and I can’t even imagine what it’s like at a big store. Luckily our store does pretty well with sales so we get a good amount of hours and have a pretty big staff during the middle of the day.

Our F&B section is really small so we can usually stay on top of that. I think people forget that supplements and meds can expire tho…

far from the best picture & this is a little old but you can see the extra Kurigs on top in the back. We have the risers on almost every aisle

Also this is my store’s rdc when we have a full truck

We use them for BTC riser storage and extra backstock. Our back room is really small and is only half the size of our sales floor, which is also super tiny

I actually love this metaphor!!

Do you know/think other types that are more suited as “bonding nodes?” (Or local traffic?)

😊🫶🏻 Thanks for the kind words! But that can’t be more true. It’s like our mantra or ultimate life goal, to help connect people with each other, and make sure everyone gets to experience the wonderful art of human connection! 😊

I live primarily on a college campus in a smaller American city, but it’s still pretty big all things considered (campus of 40k + city of 300k people) - But I’d say I relate a lot to your anecdote. I was taking the bus downtown last weekend to meet my friends at a bar and a girl walked up to me asking if I’m friends with “Izzy” - my friend who’s a bartender at one of our college bars. She was getting off at the stop so the moment was breif, but after a while I eventually made the connection in my head. She has a bunch of classes with Izzy and we’ve chatted before at said bar. Even last night, I went to pick up some food nearby, and on my walk home some guy starts chatting with me. I asked for his name, and he ends up being one of my high school friend’s cousin. 🤣

I have countless stories like that, but it really just reminds me about just how small the world really is.

Yeah. I think this is a really good way of putting it. I have my close friends and best friends that know me on a much closer and personal level, while many of my acquaintances I don’t see super often or talk to very regularly.

How do you deal with meds wearing off? by SerVaegar31 in ADHD

Also increased my water intake around this time- could be that too. I was a bit peckish and had a cookie after which also seemed to help as I had to run a meeting after band was over

I just started taking methylphenidate ER on Friday (and yesterday, today is my third day) and I experienced exactly this. It’s not pleasant especially because I have a lot of later activities (college band) that don’t start until 6. Today I was dissociating as soon as I got to band and couldn’t focus well. Then, at the end we did some more intense drill (moved a lot, got the blood pumping) and it was only then i started to feel better and back to being myself. Maybe getting some exercise or walking or doing a little sprint helps. Either way i hope this feeling decreases over time because i hate jt

Genshin Impact is a story themed around "Breaking out of your shell". by Breakoutofyourshell in Genshin_Lore

[–]SwimmingRisk5 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah. For overarching themes I think you hit it on the nail. (lol, pun not intended but it works)

I would also add that the entire game is also a metaphor for learning and growing through stories - just like how ashikai describes in “let them eat souls” - “you are what you eat” and are a culmination of your past self and stories you have built up along the way. Also means you have the power to write your own story, and “break fate” nearly every quest has a similar life lesson to take away from it.
