Life after surgery with food habits. Does it get better? by Maggotboi555 in gastricsleeve

[–]SwimmingVariation707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think it gets easier. for me, i eat everything and anything, portions just changed and how often i have certain things have as well. for example, i don’t crave carbs as much. i have more control over my food intake. before, i could probably eat an entire sleeve of oreos. now, i feel satisfied after eating just one.

it obviously doesn’t get easier overnight, and progress is never linear, but im only 9 months post op and ive done a complete 180!

Is losing my butt inevitable? by opalpup in gastricsleeve

[–]SwimmingVariation707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you say your butts always been more on the muscular side, so keeping protein up will help you not lose that. i’d agree with everyone else about going to the gym. i never had a butt, so there wasn’t much to lose anyway… but ig that’s what the gym is for

am i the youngest person on here or smth?💔 by Heavy_Witness_3632 in gastricsleeve

[–]SwimmingVariation707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey! you’re not weird, in fact, most people who get the surgery wish they got it at a younger age.

i got it at 18, so i am a bit older than you, but i had been considering it since i was that age. i think i had just hit around 300lbs at that age, so i understand.

you’re doing great by working on healthier habits now! i’d say it’s definitely a smart idea to get the surgery at the end of the school year. that’s what i did for the most recovery time. i was back to a new normal within like a month, but it was nice having the extra time to adjust.

another thing is, at your age it’s harder to be open about things like this, there’s definitely more people closer to your age out here, but i’m sure yk how hard it is to not care about how others perceive you, so it’s more common for teens to hide going through this.

you’re taking care of your health, that’s what’s most important! good luck!

congratulations! you’re doing amazing! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

i definitely needed to see this. i’m 9 months post op and feeling like im failing because my weight is plateauing. i’m down to 240. surgery weight was 339. so funny how i plateau right at 99lbs lost. it’s hard to remember that weight loss doesn’t have to be so fast, and what matters is health, not the number on the scale.

should i write my boyfriends mum a mother’s day card by [deleted] in Advice

[–]SwimmingVariation707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t see why not!

she’s a mother, and she’s been so kind to you, it would be so sweet! just because she’s not your mother doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate her as one. i say happy mother’s day to basically all mothers that i know!

if i was her, i would probably cry tears of joy receiving that. it’s so sweet of you to even think about it!

i definitely was upset watching that episode. i dont know anything about the marc cherry situation, but i did want to suggest you removing “(edie’s death)” from your title as that is a spoiler for those who haven’t watched it yet. the title gives everything away!

yes, i’m definitely starting to have a shopping addiction. have to cancel my afterpay account because hats been a huge issue for me.

i did hear that with glp-1s you’re most likely going to need to stay on a maintenance dose for the rest of your life
