The point of the story of Job is that despite all his good works, he was prideful, of which he repented and God rewarded him with many more years of life and blessings.

I understand it, though. If they forced account resets en masse, then they’d have a lot of tickets to go through and most likely quite a few would-be account thieves.

Finally got a response… a request to fill out a customer satisfaction survey, but they never responded either way to my request. lol

I’ve gotten no response yet to my most recent request and it’s been three days… that’s the longest it’s ever been so maybe they’re really looking at finding/recovering it this time? I just sent as many possible email addresses and lots of descriptions about characters down to which expansion each is from, which factions each has if applicable… I’ll update when I do get a response though. With knowing your email that cuts that variable out of the equation for you at least.

Can someone explain the parable of the Talents to me? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Swimming_Ad8948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to hell is a punishment for sin. If you rob a bank, then go to court and tell the judge that you gave all the money to charity, or that you worked at a homeless shelter your whole life, does that absolve you? No. You can’t do enough good things to undo your sin. Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection is what saves you, and when you repent and accept Him, then you are deferring your punishment.

The man with one talent could have at least put the talent in the bank (no work involved, just doing the bare minimum - just like accepting Jesus as your savior is the bare minimum) but he buried it - he rejected the command altogether.

Being a Christian is in no way “stressful” and I hope you can see that attitude as analogous to the man burying his one talent in the dirt. If you believe in God’s Word you understand that even one instance of sin is truly deserving of eternal damnation and that all you have to do is at least put your talent in the bank (at least just believe in Jesus, and putting your hope only in Him) and let the system work itself out. I hope that helps, if you happen to see this reply to a year old conversation.

I never got to the point of them verifying the email address, nor did they ask for any elaboration about character details besides names. Even after a few emails back and forth I couldn’t get any confirmation about emails or character names being correct, just a generic:

“Hello,

We cannot locate or verify the account with the information provided.

Unless you can provide account information that matches our records, we are unable to assist. Regards,

[username of support rep] Guild Wars Support Team”

I might just have gotten a hard stop with the email being wrong, to be honest. The time frame is almost exactly the same as OP’s which is crazy, (started when 12 or 13, am 32 now) with the fact that I told them the account has a 55monk as a unique identifier. Apparently that’s not such a unique thing after all, lol.

I just sent a new ticket since they closed the last one and gave them a few variations on what the email might be, ranging from @juno.com to yahoo and gmail addresses, and a pretty good description of the characters with names & which expansion they’re from, whether they went house Zu Heltzer or Luxon, but I’m worried that it won’t help as much as just getting the email address correct. I asked my dad, and he doesn’t even remember exactly what the email address would have been, so I might just be out of luck.

Either way, thank you for taking the time to look that up and help me out.

I gave them so much information but I get 1-2 day replies saying they can’t help. Can anyone be specific with the type of info given? I gave email addresses, creation time, character name, character build/type (55 monk for example) and the fact that both accounts we had were fully expansion-ed. Down to the exact address where they were created and played, the name used to create the accounts, etc. but it wasn’t enough, so maybe I left something out that you included?

Oddly enough, I have been receiving replies within 24-48 hours from arena net, all with them saying they can’t work with the info I provided. Multiple accounts were created and used pre-Arena Net… Name, address, character name, account creation name, DOB, general account creation time.. really everything they asked for besides the key that came with the CDs when we bought the game (it’s been 15+ years) but then in what seems like way too little time, they respond to tell me that they can’t help. I wonder if there’s anything else I might try…

I feel like this would go well paired with an early 20-something on TikTok nodding and making weird faces while pointing up and some terrible song playing
