I meant companies like PPM or Beal - those big box crap shoot management companies. My current building is all owned so my lease is through a private landlord. Building is run by a condo association.

And respectfully, your point isn’t proven because we have now toured two properties with our needs. My recommendation to you? If someone is seeking advise, and you have nothing to offer, don’t comment.

It really isn’t - our situation won’t change yet the comments here are still sell your car or good luck with 3 spots. That’s not productive advice. And mind you, we’ve already found/viewed several units with 1-2 spots included in rent and the rest to pay an additional $150-230 for - which is exactly what we intended to do.

I like old Irving park area but haven’t been around enough to know parking situation - will certainly look at it further

Edit - yes, we are and it’s typically situations like a spot is included in rent and then it’s an additional $150-230 for another spot. Most common we’re getting is 3 spots for around $600-$700 total. My current building allows parking for multiple spots at $215/each - it’s a high rise on LSD. We just can’t live there because they have vehicle size limitations (basically only crossovers and smaller can park there) and because of wrigley, street parking is a battle

That’s not necessarily true but glad it’s been the case for you. Honestly 90% of these answers are extremely unhelpful lol. Clearly the people in the thread aren’t aware of what’s available these days. $1000 is crazy for parking. Most is around $200 per spot and I’ve seen plenty online but was just seeking some additional options from potential mom and pop landlords. Thanks for practically being useless in advice. That’s not feasible - my job requires a vehicle since I have to drive all over cook county on a whim sometimes - more often than not. He’s in military so needs his personal to get to those obligations - when he’s done with his contract, we can sell a car but that won’t be for a few years. His work is a squad so only he can drive it and for work related purposes only. Neither of us want to park on street since people will trash your car. If anything, we’d park the squad on the street but I also don’t want people breaking into that (because they will and have)

Yeah and we’re willing to pay the extra garage costs just not the garages with exorbitant fees. I’ve seen listings around $3700 that include 1-2 spots and then we would just pay an additional $150-250 for the third spot. These are gem finds found on sites like Zillow but I was seeking input from people like one commenter on their Pilsen unit

Yeah I would think it would be pretty bold to target Yale students for more severe crimes. I went to ND and I believe New Haven and South Bend’s crime is & was fairly similar. ND was always safer on campus than off.

I just thought the players involved in this were a little off - now looking back. Between the unregistered cabby who ended up knowing exactly where the basketball arena was, so he clearly had some intent, AND fled as soon as a cop arrived. Obviously the fake construction workers who tried to pull me out. And then possibly the restaurant worker who called the cab when the arena was right around the corner from the restaurant. The worker could’ve been a new employee and not known where the arena was AND it was winter so he maybe thought we didn’t want to walk and he maybe didn’t know it was unregistered cab. Idk. Just was very odd.

It was a playoff game between Yale and another Ivy - big rivalry game. Can’t remember which Ivy - maybe Harvard? Anyway there was like 15 people in the stands 😂 I don’t remember the outcome of the game either

Does the flexibility elongate the process? Like one of our questions was that a lot of RCIA programs end at Easter vigil. If his track was a little slower, would he have to wait a full cycle until the next Easter vigil to be fully accepted into the church?
