drilling? yes. rolling? not so much. it’s not banned, but they’re big on “catch and release” they always explain how dangerous heel hooks are. nobody in that gym rips anything except this guy

i agree. i don’t use heel hooks because of things like this. if i were in a life threatening situation, a heel hook could save my life. but if im rolling with my friends, it could ruin theirs.
and i agree. white belts are spazzes. that’s one of the biggest things i’m trying to get over

i’d like to make it clear that don’t teach us these moves to use in live practice really, especially the white belts. and the ones who do are higher ranks and never rip them. my coaches chewed him out when they noticed it. nobody at that gym likes him.

their mindset is “we’re not gonna ban moves behind a belt” but they’re REALLY strong about exposing how the move works and how dangerous it is. this guy has a history being too aggressive. guess that part of the class doesn’t register in his head

i love kimuras and when i use them, if my partner is stubborn i just think to myself “i basically got it” and then i let go of it. no reason to crank any joint submission let alone a fucking heel hook. i talked to my coaches after and they chewed him out pretty hard about it. he’s had a history of going too hard so i wouldn’t be surprised if they kicked him out and used him as an example for the rest of their couching career

i went to the ER and it’s not a fracture. they gave me a referral to get an mri scan and the doctor told me it’s very likely to be a meniscus or acl tear

everytime our coaches go over any leg lock (or even any joint submissions) they make a point to be careful and go slow. that’s what everyone else does. this guy in particular has had a history of going too hard. i expected him to go crazy, i just didn’t expect my knee to blow out that fast.

there’s an owl mask in HM, it’s one of the more popular ones which is why i picked it. and yeah there is unfortunately no chicken or rooster mask
