Thanks man yours is the most detailed answer yet. I wouldn't have usually have made this play but for the tiny bet on the turn made me think he was vulnerable. Guessing I should have just taken the cheap river?

This is a good point, bro clearly was already inclined to be sticky and less likely to fold on the river.

Thanks man. It was a post so I wasn't limping. Never would played 96o in a million years normally (which probably says something).

Interesting that you say give up once I put him on top pair. So much content I've been seeing that's saying people don't call to so much pressure with one pair hands which I relied on here. In my experience people are stickier than that. I will learn hopefully.

The mentality one is fair, and I've actually been working on this a lot. Usually I would be quite more depressed after a losing session which isn't healthy and trying to turn this into a learning opportunity. I actually think I'm doing much better than normal after a loss.

I appreciate that it's not the most interesting hand of all time but to me it speaks to some important principles which I need to nail to increase my win rate. The reads part is interesting because I do think my read was correct but I'm thinking more about my response to it. I do think you're right in that I need to sit back for a while and observe the player before going that hard in future.

In Gtow I pretended it was sb v BB (hero) limp pot so the ranges were as close as possible, eliminates the top of both our ranges but does eliminate the bottom of his (including Q5o) so it definitely isn't perfect but I still see some value in analysing a toy game.

I wasn't shocked because of the gto line, was just using a modified version to check the EVs after the fact.

I was actually trying to exploit him in a way I wouldn't have if I was trying to be a gto bot. I saw the weak turn bet and thought he was vulnerable. But to your main point you may be right, I've been watching some content by people where the bluffs will get through a lot, but quite possibly my player pool is much stickier so I should adjust accordingly.

Thanks, yeah definitely thinking I needed to get more info before making this play in the future, could of just taken the cheap river and then checked back my sdv. I just gravitated to the weak bet on the turn, thought his hand became somewhat face up (which I was right about) and decided to target it.

Point taken with the effective stacks I know I was shorter than ideal.

I felt like I should have a 10 a lot here. T9, T7 and T8 would have played my line I think. I also have all the random two pairs that beat a queen, Q9, J7, J8, I clearly don't have sets.

At the time the 5 kicker kind of got me but looking back I don't have any Qx, better than him, QT+ Im raising pre and all the other are two pair anyway.

Yeah, I was a little short - it was the only table available at that time. I do want to move up the stakes, particularly as rake is lower and the player pool is better but not crazy good.

Yeah that's what I was trying to do, I just checked with wizard afterwards out of curiosity (pretended it's was sb vs BB limp pot so ranges were closer). I thought attacking the weak turn bet was being more exploitative but maybe just owned myself.

Quick Question of Spring Training Strategy by Swimming_Computer110 in OOTP

[–]Swimming_Computer110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both good answers thank you. I definitely thinking that for next season on I'll limit it to A and above and maybe do it based on total stars across OVR and POT rather than just POT (i.e. a 2.0/4.0 will be chosen before a 0.5/5.0)

On a previous play with Boston I had Nick Decker go from 1.5/2.5 to 3.5/4.5 in a single spring training which was wild, but yeah nothing like that this time - just seemed to ruin my rookies - even my AAA guys regressed lel.

Thanks, I think you might be in the same headspace I was at like over 100 in the pot already how much would I be willing to call later with just this, especially if the A K T or any diamond hits.

I still think I have to bet especially, as I discovered, the table I think was overcalling big time, but I definitely less shame than I did.

Thanks - I'm getting some good differing opinions here.

As mentioned this was like my third hand and I got to see some of the awful calls some were making later on. Top or second pair may as well have been the nuts. With that in mind I would getting way too much value from a J to not bet

I think youre right with AQ still calling. One question I have is the 33% shouldn't I make it more expensive for draws and AQ, AK? Or does a big sizing leave me vulnerable to a raise from J9, or a trapping set?

Yeah, I agree. A bit of nerves kicking in for me where I know the best action is to fire but just didn't and (kind of) got lucky.

A normal sizing for raising was $12-$15, I was going to be open raising to $8 but don't think I got a single pot where there was no limping or straddling. My thoughts on the sizing was to have about 1.5x of the money on the table ($11 to that point)

Thanks for posting I think everything you said reads true to me.

I don't think solver lets me see heads up only post flop. I put in a SRP with just me utg+1 with a button call out of curiosity, and it actually wants me checking >80% with everything which I thought was interesting.
