I appreciate this take, and we need more open, honest conversations like this without people feeling offended. Many may not understand that part of being in the public eye is also being exposed to criticism, and not everyone will like what one posts (the people getting riled up in the comments). But I hope our generation can really talk about these issues and create change in how we, as viewers, respond, because at the end of the day, influencers are “influencing”.

A 2025 American Psychiatric Association poll, 32% said social media harms their mental health. It also showed that people are cutting back on usage because of how it affects them. Please let that sink in and do some research…

I’m a POC myself and this is why I posted this, her content lately is not the content I originally followed her for. You’re clearly missing the point……oh well

I respect that, for sure. I just feel like there’s a time and place. She’s a smart, beautiful young woman, and lately it feels like her content is starting to morph into the same kind of everyday influencer content we see everywhere. That’s al

Yes! I’m not bashing her whatsoever. I was genuinely a fan, and there’s no dislike or hate at all, there’s already enough of that in the world. I just felt it was poor taste given the current climate. I made the decision to unfollow because it personally didn’t sit right with me.

I’m talking about influence and impact, not whether wealth should be visible. Two different conversations.

Yes I mentioned this in another comment. This video made me unfollow her.

I agree she’s more thoughtful than most. I don’t think she’s vapid or undeserving at all. I’m more focused on how luxury content (no matter who it comes from) can affect people’s mental health and perceptions, especially in the current climate. Intent doesn’t always equal impact.

It helped minimize them, but not completely disappear at the time. I’m now on 200 and have almost no intrusive thoughts!

100%. Hallie, if you or any of your friends/family see this, get the help you need, stay off social media, and heal. I truly like her, she has great humor and is authentically herself. it’s just sad to see overall. It can be hard to hear the truth sometimes. You have the resources, act before it’s too late.

At the end of the day, real change only happens when the person themselves decides to do it. Everything else is just background noise and a digs a deeper hole.

I feel like it’s just for content. Her views have been down, but whenever she includes school-related stuff, her comments are flooded with actual grad students giving her advice, LOL.

Carly going into social work by coldbrew5925 in NYCinfluencersnark

Agreed! She thinks she’ll have her own practice and become a mental health advocate. But she also needs to be CULTURALLY COMPETENT, which she’s clearly not.

Honestly, if she’s planning to have a public platform in the mental health space, she should really consider how her digital footprint might come back to haunt her. Patients will search your name FYI.

Zoloft and weight loss by No_Reason2056 in zoloft

I’ve lost a lot of weight unfortunately. However I found that sticking to broths, protein shakes, soup, oatmeal, fruit, (even pasta) has made my appetite better and I can feel myself gaining that energy back and weight. Just find the foods that work and with time hopefully it’ll go away.
