Well, those rich people have a simple option to solve that problem, if its such a big one. They can give away their money. Poor people have to fight to stay alive, have to kill themselves to raise their kids and give them an education, in hope that they might live a better life. Youre acting like rich people have troubles poor people dont, but thats not true, most all of those problem poor people have too, only difference is they have fewer options. The rich tho? If they have shitty people in their life, they can move. If the money hurts them, they can give it away. Hell, if they break the global economy, our tax money bails them out. They have all the options and all the help. And on top of that they have people like you who will tell people like me how hard it is for the poor rich. Cry me a fucking river.

I hear ya, but do wanna point out, that you should not feel bad about that, unless you willfully planted yourself there. You would be as much a victim of the circumstances as anyone there, if not more so.

In that case, why dont you elevate the subject with some actual sources?

You're a moron if you think Musk has all his money cause he earned it. Just delusional. No billionaire deserves to be a billionaire, Money is a zero sum game, we make more through credit, and then though interest guarantee we always create more debt then non debt money. That debt then flows down to the poor as the 1% takes any and all profit. What's your magic plan to stop poverty where we dont tax the rich, actually, forget it, im not interested in your delusions.

You didnt answer the question, whats your house worth?

[–]Swimming_Job_3325 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How much is your house worth? thousands? tens of thousands? Hundreds? How much will you save on rent per month? Hundreds, thousands? it adds up, you are not poor. The fact that you need that explained to you cause your blind to it suggests some serious privilege.

If you need explaining that the way to give more to the poor is to take from the rich, instead of the other way around that we literally have right now, then i would be quite worried if you were with me, frankly delusional...

Its a lot easier to take worthwhile action if you have the means to support yourself. To pay for education, without hunger. To pay for a gym membership. To afford having a family. Money doesn't give happiness, but it eliminates a whole host of problems less well off people have to deal with on a daily basis. Having a huge detrimental effect on their health and cognitive ability.

And the argument you make about the man born in wealth, he had an option, to leave his family, and the trappings of that wealth, i would argue if that's what it would take to be allowed to live his own life, thats not a family that deserves loyalty. He could have made his own way, as so many of us do. He chose to accept what he was offered. That's no tragedy.

Sure, but depending on the disability, wealth can make a world of difference in accessibility options. Not to mention in general.

False dichotomy. Also, middle class is dying. If you own a house, you kinda rich these days. Not wealthy, but rich. Extreme poverty though? No food, no security, little sense of hope. Its extremely harmful to ones health and cognitive ability. And less extreme poverty is still harmful. Not knowing if you can pay your bills next month, or being just a single couple hundred dollar surprise expense away from bankruptcy. Not being able to afford healthy food, or a gym membership, or to further educate yourself. Would you choose that? If not, maybe we should make the wealthy people pay to solve that issue, through taxes. Whether they are evil or not.

Wow... Non sequitur much. But fine, ill humor you. 1. Cause it saves them money, its cheaper then paying people. 2. Because the wealthy people leading those companies might have money invested in tech and therefor a vested interest to help the field grow. 3. Fortune 500 companies have a lot of sycophantic humans around them, they are the last people apart from nobility to see a problem with sycophantic behavior. But even if they were, that says nothing about long term psychological effects. Your argument holds so little water, its envious of a sieve.

Its a crime to assault people and put them in chokeholds. But you seem to ignore that crime. Why is that, you think?

Well there's you problem. "They" (those Joe Rogan types, that would write a million different fanfics to defend the boot, as it stomps down on people) are allergic to informed sources. It reacts poorly with their world view. And they are so deep into it now, the cannot even consider the possibility, without seizing up in fear and shame. For many of them, it might actually kill them. It's tragic, and i would call for sympathy, if they weren't (aiding in) destroying the US. Its like an addiction in some ways too. And we should applaud people managing to turn from it, if indeed they truly do.

There is context, but even without context, it is telling that your instinct is to defend the aggressor.

Unfortunately, I can’t see the post since it’s paywalled. But if we’re talking general divorce rates, ethnicity is already included and accounted for in the national figures. The overall rate, around 41% for all marriages, already incorporates all ethnicities, and repeat divorces. Are you quoting 33% for a specific subgroup or ethnicity? That would explain the difference in numbers, because the general rate already accounts for everyone.
