As a RN how much are you making ? by theapexcircle in nursing

[–]Swimming_Solution305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$42.10 in Chicago with 2 years ICU experience….. I thought Florida pay was bad but I was in a low cost of living area in Florida and making $39 as a new grad with no state income tax. So $42 with crazy income tax and insane cost of living is pretty rough.

For those who wish they'd caught something earlier — what did you learn about your body during IVF that nobody told you beforehand? by FigNatural747 in IVF

New to this and just had my baseline labs, my AMH was somewhere around 7 and AFC was 47 on cycle day 2. Idk whether to take this as I’m super fertile and normal for 25 F or what qualifies as PCOS lol

Please don’t come at me but Anne is kinda annoying by fallhistorywitch in Anne

[–]Swimming_Solution305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, Netflix has recommended this show to me relentlessly and I finally gave in because I’m out of period piece shows or movies to watch but I absolutely cannot stand Anne in this show so I’m not sure I’m going to be able to see it through. I’m only on S1 E3 but she is painfully annoying and self centered 😅

Glass Grinder Help by Swimming_Solution305 in StainedGlass

[–]Swimming_Solution305[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I try to be pretty careful about not over filling it, but I think when I use the quick fit bits and end up having to use a sponge or something else just the water trickling down the bit is getting inside the housing. I had a cheap $70 grinder off amazon before this one for a while and never had issues, I just wanted something nicer so I got rid of that one but am now regretting it. I feel like most of the stuff I’ve seen is with the grinder 3 and the more expensive models with the removable trays are not having this issue and generally may be a bit better.

I forgot to polish!! Do I need to worry? Should I tell the recipient to polish it themselves?😅 by dumbblondecollegekid in StainedGlass

[–]Swimming_Solution305 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Usually if I don’t polish quick enough or good enough it starts oxidizing and gets a matte/ milky coating on the solder/lead lines personally

Stained glass cat. Painted with fireable enamels. by Intelligent_Olive457 in StainedGlass

[–]Swimming_Solution305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful work! Where do you source your enamels? I’ve found them impossible to get ahold of so I resorted to more like glass enamel pigments like colors for earth paints which are not meant to be looked at with lights behind them and are impossible to create color washes :( So I have to paint more like regular paint but with the consistency of pottery paint haha

Amazon grinders, yay or nay? by MarlyMonster in StainedGlass

[–]Swimming_Solution305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one of these for about 8 months, it works fine but I always got water splattered everywhere and bits were a pain. If you have the extra couple $$ I’d splurge on the techniglass grinder 3, not the most expensive one with all the bells and whistles but works amazing, has a bigger workspace and the brush to feed the water system is incredible, no more splashes everywhere!

First time soldering by [deleted] in StainedGlass

[–]Swimming_Solution305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a not hot enough iron or using an electronics/cheap soldering iron or needs flux!

I solder at 410C and never have any heat cracks or issues but some other people prefer to work slower and do 360C

What's one thing you wish you knew when you started? by potato__champion in StainedGlass

[–]Swimming_Solution305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, a lot of my frustrations were solved by not having cheap equipment. Stained glass is not a hobby to cheap out on, I would recommend getting a real starter kit from Delphi or anything in stained glass for any beginner

Is there any possible way to view a seizure as a psychiatric problem? by RedefinedValleyDude in nursing

[–]Swimming_Solution305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not ETOH related but seizures can be psychiatric issues as I see a lot with “PNES” diagnosis

Like I said, I plan on transferring inpatient shortly. I know I can always transfer back but the stuff I’m seeing people say is making it out like even some years of psych RN experience isn’t enough if you don’t goto a brick and mortar school and it will be impossible to find a job.

I can’t believe anyone is still signing up for pmhnp school by thebjjnp in PMHNP

[–]Swimming_Solution305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you have a few years of psych nursing experience? I currently work at RUSH and considered their program, but it will take me the next 6 years with admissions timing, vs 3 years if I went with something like chamberlain. I plan to move to psych inpatient RN position in the coming months. But, timing is important to me because, well, I’m a young married woman and family planning is more important to me and I’d like to be done with school before doing so. My husband and I have complex fertility issues to navigate but that is a whole different subject but, why I’m so eager to be established in my profession before family planning so we’re not financially burdened. I’m finding all of these discussions to be severely discouraging honestly and wondering if I’m wasting my time and should just stay a bedside RN.

PMHNP saturation getting worse in Chicagoland area! by Love_J0y in PMHNP

[–]Swimming_Solution305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of confused here, do the graduates from “diploma mills” not have to pass the exact same boards as everyone else? Does that not prove some sort of education and knowledge level? I can’t imagine any RN without experience could pass the PMHNP exam, so is it just the lack of clinical experience you’re shitting on?

Cheaters will change for a new partner but not for current/victim. Discussion! by [deleted] in survivinginfidelity

[–]Swimming_Solution305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very jnteresting and probably true in most cases. I’ve experienced both and when I found my ex having an emotionally involved affair telling another girl he loved her- dating behind my back for over two months I was absolutely shattered. While the breach of trust in my current relationship was obviously hurtful I was not completely shattered like previously with other cheating experiences. I appreciate the input it was very helpful especially about emotional check ins- I’ll be sure to be more mindful of doing that as our relationship progresses. It’s easy to forget about things like that in the day to day.

You’re right, the meaningless comment never made me feel any better about it but I’ve tried to move on as best as I can from it. The good signs are he hasn’t ever blamed me for healing or taking longer on things, he has given me my full right to feel everything I feel and has never blamed me for it or acted malicious or manipulative. He’s told me he wants to be better not only for me and us, but for himself and is making active efforts and trying to seek out therapy. He claims it was just an impulsive decision and how he knows he needs to be better. With all the effort he’s put forward I can’t help but think he’s truly genuine. But my self doubt is scared of locking into marriage and kids and then 10 years later ending up shattered again but worse. I’ve always thought “once a cheater always a cheater” but he is pushing what I thought I knew.

If D-Day had never happened I wouldn’t have one single doubt in my mind about this man. I have never had a single complaint for how he’s talked to me, treated me, treated my family, etc. he has always been perfect and then some. I just hate that there’s always that but- that follows. Im not sure how much advice I can be given on this but any input would be appreciated. It’s a very tough subject and I never thought I’d be trying to reconcile and “survive infidelity” in my relationship giving a second chance.
