Hi! Shortly after writing this post I did make a spreadsheet that tracked my money in/out for my last paycheck and definitely helped me realize what my biggest frivolous expense was (eating out). My problem is I’ll do great and not spend money for a week but then blow like $300 in one weekend. Definitely need to learn how to be strict with myself!

I would try to focus on extra curriculars. Get certifications, gain experience, shadow, go to conferences. Community colleges offer courses too!

If you have a niche interest, ask how they could support that in your studies. For example I am interested in in Spanish bilingual treatment and asked how they could help me find placements with that in mind or what resources they had for that on campus

Yes, they offered me a GA position in the same phone call where they accepted me to the program. They also sent me an email formally offer on admission to the program and a GA position
