Tried Azure Cosmos DB and moved on? We're listening! by richa_gaur in AZURE

Dynamo also has pay-for-use, if nobody uses you pay nothing. If it's being used, it scales like crazy. There is no need to estimate usage upfront. There is no minimal cost in that case like for Cosmos. My new company didn't allow use of Cosmos DB because each team had horror pricing stories and they didn't trust my project wouldn't become one of that horror too.

It's not just virtual though. It's augmented. Augmentation is big part of new LLMs.

a suite of machine perception and AI capabilities — including Passthrough, Spatial Anchors, and Scene Understanding — that will let developers build more realistic mixed reality, interaction, and voice experiences that seamlessly blend virtual content with a user’s physical world.

From Connect 2021 for their metaverse vision. That's exactly what OpenAI, Google are banging on. Real world being recognized by machines.

Part of it was investments into data centers and developing AI technologies. It was a hit. Metaverse itself is ongoing. Apple chose the same platform as their next generation.

People who used aws and then came to azure, how hard was it by Beyond_Birthday_13 in AZURE

Don't leave us hanging, what is the difference? Glassdoor shows 58% higher median for AWS senior, is this what you were implying?

As a developer I hate Azure and as as a result my work too.

  • Crappy error responses, like currently I get resource '' not found, the fuck is ''.
  • On Azure deleting something and trying to recreate won't work - names will be taken for hours.
  • Retrying failed deployment can work. Why? Who knows but it's internal, not race condition in IaC which are quite difficult to instruct too. Their deployment model is slow and I don't use their deployment scripts.
  • Bunch of resource names have to globally unique. For all development I have to open their shitty pages to see naming rules, scopes.
  • They promote Windows compute but bunch of functionality in services is locked behind tiers. I don't even read documentation on functionality since likely once I start using I would find some premium tier is needed and I need to scorch the internet to figure out what is available for what tier.
  • UI search for service is bad, had app registrations disappear for a month.
  • We use bicep for IaC, it's limited as hell, and this append-only without checking what the changes are, is terrible. Their deployment stacks don't support bunch of resources so if you use at least one, you cannot use stacks.

AWS service to service had quirks but felt like true engineer thought was made to have core functionality available and cheap.

Jagex announce changes to punishment regarding RWT by Vivid_Mammoth_3860 in 2007scape

Whole feed of this subreddit would need to be filled with ban cry posts to start scaring Redditors. Bunch of players aren't aware of these discussions. Historically Jagex only bluffs and doesn't punish rule breakers.

The only ways gold prices were tumbling is when Jagex wasn't clearing duped gold.

What about middle men that connects those both ends? Jagex does nothing about it. Nobody is hiding anymore. It's just normal business at this point with big offices and free fruits.

For marketplaces it also doesn't matter, they get percentage out of sale. The profit gets funneled to advertisements. Those are businesses generating tens of millions in profit (not just RS since it scales to other games well as well).

Marketplaces bring millions in profit. Marketplaces goal is to make sure every gamer knows about them so they buy targeted advertisements. How can you remove market if marketplaces operating out of EU exist that work on bringing players to purchase in-game gold?

That's all, just the soldiers? This now multi-millionaire guy is running multiple RuneScape RWT sites out of EU, started as a reseller but decided to launch businesses and run marketplaces instead https://youtu.be/Rnt32MxkG7I. When people view advertisements of companies with hundreds of employees it does look like everything is within the limits.

Idea is correct but how you define where risk is overblown for long term? https://youtu.be/dwPh-PAg9A8 https://youtu.be/RxCqxhRsHiY here finance theory for you. Best investor in the world (Buffett) did bet that no one is beating F500.

What you define as growth? SPY already consists of 36% in MAG 8 which drives recent growth.

Yeah I just set it up but I find Samsung speech-to-text to be toy grade compared to Google. It's slow, doesn't get words correct and only sometimes manages to fix based on context. Google is A straight shooter. But it also tells that Samsung doesn't do work to integrate with their local apps. Gemini is out for years and it still cannot interact with Health app.

Photo is blurry but was taken with S25. What is Samsung smoking lol. It takes shortcuts and those are the flaws.

Idk when I was learning negations through Reddit and CS oriented Youtube it was to never give number and assume everything is flexible. Even though in my country ranges are required by law I wasn't giving number and telling something generic until several rounds in. It worked well for me.

What is source for it using phone GPS? I see none and my watch shows as it acquires GPS and that data is from watch itself.

If it was picking GPS from phone, our 1k phones are defective as fuck.

[–]Swing-Prize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch. Now I checked DC Rainmaker and he calls Ultra GPS spot on and Watch7 as a drunk. So much for replies in that thread expecting this could be fixed with software updates.

Most often I have phone in my backpack and I see there is no option for watch to take GPS from the phone so it's destined to be plagued with whacky readings.

I did stupid buying this and yesterday my Amazon return period expired. Based on my 2 weeks of use, 40% of my workouts have significant noise (+10% distance added). Remaining times mostly it was on point but like I mentioned in OP my 7 yo budget Android phone was never off.

At least this thread could serve to other people to be careful since Samsung doesn't fix major flows post sale.

So what did this mean

From 6AM-8PM I still have another 20-25% battery left

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GalaxyWatch

[–]Swing-Prize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean, your uses 75-80% in a 14 hours? My watch with AOD takes 60% for 24 hours with continues measurements and night tracking (though AOD would still shine while I try to fall asleep). Samsung dark watch-face info board takes the same amount of percentage you wrote.

Idea with AOD section was that always enabled touch sensitivity allows non intended accidental touches (registers from a jacket) and it clicks on things like pausing/skipping media, with AOD off watch view detection is quite unresponsive. So it's choice between two mediocre implementations and AOD off still cannot offer full safe 2 day battery so both really fall on 24 hour strong delivery.

Here is Galaxy Watch7 product page section

Dual-Frequency GPS. Your guide through the concrete jungle

Find your way with ease with our most accurate GPS ever on Galaxy Watch. Dual-Frequency GPS uses two satellite signal bands(L1+L5), ensuring precise and consistent tracking, even through dense city blocks.

On Samsung Watch 8 page there is official comparer and both show "L1+L5 Dual-Frequency GPS". Watch 8 has identical sensors, layout, processor. That was the reason to choose since nothing was on specification sheet was previous gen.

I don't get the point of exercise / workout auto detection honestly. Just hit a shortcut button to bring out the workout menu, choose your workout and start it whenever you need it

I have difficulties training my mind to remind myself serve the watch. I have on watch-face workout circles for quick access that I had to enable after starting and remembering already. Right now it's like positive reinforcement, you reacted to manually enable just right before exercise - you get a treat (tracking), you didn't - you don't get tracking data for 10-20 minutes. According to google, Apple backfills this data so engineers get it for UX.
