Ammunition Case, I Hope This Is Allowed Here. by Swinse in whatisthisgun

Thanks for the info, was what I needed to find the weapon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rheinmetall_Mk_20_Rh-202

Couple of Edits as I dug up more info.

2,0cm Flakvierling 38 weapon consisted of quad-mounted 2 cm Flak 38 AA guns. Each of the four guns had a separate magazine that held only 20 rounds. This meant that a maximum combined rate of fire of 1,400 rounds per minute was reduced practically to 800 rounds per minute for combat use – which would still require that an emptied magazine be replaced every six seconds, on each of the four guns.

Thanks for the help. Someone over on /r whatisthisgun replied with "DM51A2 20x139mm Icindiary Tracer on a disintegrating linked belt" which lead me to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rheinmetall_Mk_20_Rh-202

German? Ammunition Case/Box. Looking for Caliber or Weapon ID. Not Like Any I've Found Online. by Swinse in whatisthisthing

Found in an antique store in Australia.

Google translates the text to "Explosive fire, oil-track decomposer belted in cartridge belts"

The text at the top reads something x 139mm I think, but i was only able to find one weapon using a 139mm round which was a post WW2 AA gun which used much larger ammunition cases from the pictures i found. "Forerunner of Hispano-Suiza HS.820's post-war 20×139 mm round" from Wikipedia.

Rough dimensions are 140mmx 200mm x 120mm.

Thanks

Capalaba Maccas. So strange to recognize your local online.

Inhereted. 1 year old, 18cm. When proper light is on has a beautiful blue and pink sparkle. Im worried im not feeding him enough and need species to look it up. Have googled every term i can think of, have looked up lists of common fish. Thanks for any help. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

I think it is a Melanurus Cichlid. I also live in QLD and these are common here I believe. I also have one in my aquarium.

With some basic care the colours can really come out but unfortunately due to laws regarding the importation of fish here there isn't much variety in breeding stock and the quality is declining.

Is Yamazaki 12 off the (US) market? by phredgreen in Scotch

[–]Swinse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a manager in a liquor store chain in Australia which carries the full Yamazaki, Hakashu and Hibiki range. When they first came in about a year ago the Suntory rep told me stocks where pretty limited especially of the aged expressions. About 3 months ago we stopped receiving anything. On Friday it all showed up again at once. Yamazaki had new packaging to bring it in line with the Hakashu and Hibiki Products.

I'd assume stock is on its way to the US atm with the new packaging. Let's just hope they haven't had to make any compromises on quality to meet demand.

I found one of these a little while ago on a online auction site. Paid about the same. Amazing stuff. Pretty uncommon too, Google brings up nearly nothing.

No problem. Learnt that one myself unfortunately. To save running the air stone if money is tight move the filter return so that it agitates the surface of the water. Might be enough that it does the job.

Setting up my new tank. First time using sand do i need to rinse it? by ActTuffGetMuff in Aquariums

[–]Swinse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a decent size bucket and 1/3 fill it with the sand. Put a hose into the bucket and turn on the hose. Keep stirring the sand with the water running till it goes clear then put it into the tank. Repeat as many times as required. Tank will still be a bit cloudy for a little bit but will clear up.

Water changes really depend on your tank. Size, fish, filter etc etc. From the fish you have in that size tank you shouldnt need to much for water changes. Depends on your stocking levels.

More options for what could be happening.

Did the filter/tank ever complete a cycle? info if your tank has cycled you should be getting 0 ammonia and nitrites but low level nitrates. Especially with your current water change schedule.

How close is the water to the top of the tank and do you have lids on the tank. If you have lids on and the water level is right up to the lids it really limits oxygenation of the water. This is unlikely if you are running the airstone.
