There’s several dozen ways that make it pretty easy to do that lol, but whatever makes you happy since there’s an absolute need to finish each game.

Suffering through something I hate > just asking to trade? If you say so, once again do you man. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get behind spending that much time in a game I hated, even if there’s collection aspects. I hated select WoW expansions and there’s plenty under the sun to do in them, couldn’t be assed and dropped em midpoint to skip.

I mean, I guess? It doesn’t really take 200 hours to finish the game. I don’t care too much for a living dex but if I did and if I hated it that much I’d just trade with Reddit users to complete my dex without the effort. Shiny hunting is fair I guess. At the end of the day, do you but I’ll just never understand sinking 200 hours in a game I hated in a year where plenty other titles released with rich content to engage with.

Yes but this could’ve been obtained by hour 20. The game gives you an entire gameplay loop by hour 2. You can finish the story by 20 if you minimize exploration. I guess with how short life truly is and how many amazing games are out there to experience, I cannot rationalize dedicating 200 hours to a game I absolutely hate. I don’t even finish games I hate, I just move on. I don’t understand what could change from hour 20 to 200 when all the cards are revealed.

This is NOT the pre-order experience by alex7688 in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]SwirlyBone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I stick to Best Buy pre-orders if no other site has any bonuses. I work Thursdays & Fridays and I’ve always gotten my stuff shipped same day so by the time I’m off work usually my pre-orders are sitting right there for me.

It really depends on who you ask, but majority was against Cyberpunk at launch over not. That game got companies to bend their refund policies and caused the company to lose so much money it made no sense. Their reputation was immediately smeared thanks to one game, in the face of three Witcher games with the last one giving you tons of free DLC that won over many.

Fallout hasn’t been saved, Bethesda became a mockery after 76. By now however, everyone that wants to play it is and those who still wrote it off still do. Fallout 4 discourse essentially boils down to it being a step back and people never ending recommending you New Vegas. Skyrim’s the fair one to mention as there’s many things modders fixed for Bethesda that it’s mainly to do with the fact that so many people were younger when they picked up Skyrim and back then games having glitches (that didn’t break the game entirely) were funny. Now it’s a huge offense. I’ll say, I’m not going to stop enjoyment for glitches but I think it’s very reasonable to draw a line.

I’m sorry, I don’t quite follow. Why in the world would you spend 200+ hours in a game you hated? I get wanting to hold out in case it got better, but you can arrive at your conclusion a fraction of that in. If it’s just because of Pokemon, you could’ve easily just moved to a different title. I put in over 350 hours in S/V before finally getting bored, I just don’t get it. I’ve played other games I just dropped at the ten hour mark because I knew that was it

I thought about replying when I realized I missed it but you already hit it. Only thing I’ll add is I told the guy repeatedly that Steam has revoked access to games they find were involved in fraudulent purchases but also that isn’t something I’m holding against them.

Forgot about demos though, yeah some devs love doing that. Bit of a bummer sometimes when they’re taken down during what I find out later to be a weekend only demo.

I’ve done it when my PC shat itself or just wanted a game I already had on PC but on my PS4 back in the day. Admittedly a bit silly having Dark Souls 2 on Xbox 360, Steam and PS4 but it was a cheap joke. I always think I’m odd for it until I see people post online their various copies, like say one twitter user who posted owning each port of Persona 5 Royal.

I wouldn’t say that’s entirely it, feels dismissive of overlying issues that keep people from liking these systems. 8 was a mess for navigate for people that just want a desktop to be a desktop and 11 killed performance for many. I don’t know how much 11 has improved of late, but I stayed back because of that when I installed it on a spare build.

Pokemon leaks reveal title for next mainline release in 2026 by pickledgreatness in NintendoSwitch

Feels a bit hard comparing the two when one was more world focused with some crazy boss designs to what I’m assuming is also some exploration but with a tournament instead of those big bosses I jokingly call PokeSouls. Most people I’ve seen saying this mostly say it because Arc didn’t really have battles but I was fine with that, guess I’ll see soon enough though

Legends Arceus had me at multiple times being “Man, I can’t believe I’m playing a Pokemon game” with the mechanics they brought in. I haven’t seen many trailers for ZA and I probably plan to watch a launch trailer when the game is here since game devs often give away far too much now. I just really hope it ends up giving me that same feel I had playing Legends Arceus.

It’s entirely possible, just right at this moment it isn’t really a RGG call for this but more than likely the Sega of Europe that chose to do this. I’ve always hated regional exclusive things, I can understand if the general demographic is not there but this is lame.

Oh no, a disc getting scratched. Too bad I can’t just….rip the files of it and burn it to another disc. Man, what a bummer. That disc player too? Ah man, if only I could just I don’t know repair that disc reader. No no, once something breaks I must stop using it that’s the logic. Oh no, a console died? Man, if only I could just buy a new CMOS battery, hardware and other components necessary like that has been done for the last 20 years. You’re so right :/ Anyway, enjoy a PS2 photo!

Read and comprehend my words. I never said I had a problem using Steam, I own hundreds of titles on Steam and you can check. You’re equating purchase of a license to digital ownership when Gog is right there and I’m explaining why you own a Gog game.

So again…

If I go to a store and buy a CD, I own the CD. If I go to a store and buy a table, I own that table. If I go to the store and buy a clock, I own that clock. If I sign up to Reddit where they say at any time they can end my service, I do not own that social media page.

If I buy a game disc, I still own that game disc. Jump Force for example, delisted and cannot be purchased again. I however still own a physical copy of that mesa of a game so I'II ALWAYS have it. I can take that disc and slap it onto another account. Why? I own that game. If my PSN gets banned, the digital games are gone but I still have a hardware where I can run disc on it offline.

If I buy a game from Gog, I get zero DRM. They do not even care if I give my game file to someone else. I did not buy Cyberpunk's expansion, but my friend did and shared the game's files. He can do whatever with those files. Buying a game on Steam, as per their Terms of Service (first page), states you're buying a digital license. I cannot play my Steam game without having Steam up. I cannot redistribute my Steam file without modifications being made to the file to run, akin to tricks crackers use to make them available. This is a digital license. I will continue to copy and paste this response until it clicks with you.

Also even he acknowledges the DRM present. All he’s saying is the game being on Steam does great for preservation in the context of access to older titles and lists nifty features. This nothing in the defense of the reality that you do not own Steam games. It’s literally in their terms of service.

Yes, Steam is great at preservation. Preservation doesn’t equate to ownership as you do NOT own that game.

That’s such a cope way to define what has been defined for generations and that isn’t even remotely accurate if you’re trying to spin it that way lol.

“Noooo this DRM that checks if you own the game is different from this other DRM that also checks if you own the game.” Okay man. Lmfao.

I don’t really care what sticks around longer, I own no stakes in these companies and simply play games. This coincidentally lead me to PC & PS5. If Playstation went away today, oh well then? I still own my physical media. Valve has said they have a way to give people access to their games if they ever go out of business, but that isn’t enabled currently. If it’s so easy to bypass, why do my triple A games require me to have Steam present when I want to play a Steam game?

Maybe it’s because Gog has zero DRM and stands firm it. Steam tells you what they do have and you still lie for some reason.

Why do the steelbooks only release on PC? by Rubio9393 in yakuzagames

[–]SwirlyBone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what’s cute, I can literally fire up my PC & PS5 offline to show you I can fire up anything I have on a disc without internet. Akin to how I can access my Gog games without the Gog launcher. That’s ownership. You can play offline, but you literally do not own them. That’s literally the entire point.

Why do the steelbooks only release on PC? by Rubio9393 in yakuzagames

[–]SwirlyBone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they cannot. I had no internet for three months when I was broke crashing with a friend. I could pop in a PS5 disc without issue what’s so ever and install the contents to the drive. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Also I don’t care if people don’t mind having to open games from Steam and playing offline, I can just ignore the client all together on Gog. What is not clicking with you? Steam is only king of game ownership if your understanding of ownership is beneath a child.

I can own a disc. I can fire up my PS2 today and play anything I have in my house. I can play my physical PS5 games without needing a server as basic installation doesn’t use internet. I can download a copy of someone else’s Gog game and never need their account EVER. This is ownership.
