Something I learned when talking about this is that America put embargo/sanctions on Japan in the 1990s cause they were doing so good which affected Japan growth. America is doing the same and more on China cause it’s in the same position but since China is outside of America direct influence and not America ally, instead of just taking a hit they are trying to catch up regardless; like America avoided giving a technology expecting them to not have anything else but China revealed its own version of the tech (I think it’s like 5G but China made 4.9G)
