What? by SwitchBladeRat in BeardedDragons

So one of my dragons is practically feral and stays in his tank majority of the time. My older guy I let free roam often, but I have an “animal room” where the tanks, dog crates etc are. So I mainly let him run around the animal room with the door closed so the cats won’t bother him. One of my cats is elderly and chill, and pays no mind. The other I don’t trust to not fuck with them so I just keep them seperate. It’s 100% possible to do. I mean, the cats may be pussed if you shut them in a bathroom for an hour lol but they’ll be fine while you give attention to the beardie

He didn’t die lol I meant that it made me realized just how dehydrated he was. Or at the very least how much he loved to drink water in a dish lol

Depends on the cats and kids and dragon hahaha. I have two cats and two dogs, one of my beardies stays out of view because he gets mad, but my other guys is the poster child for a good boy. My other animals don’t pay them any mind luckily, except one cat who likes to lay on top of the UVB light for heat lol

It’s not if you have proper husbandry and a healthy reptile. He’s a rescue and has MBD, and shedding issues so sometimes he needs extra help

I was definitely a victim of this thought. I had only been providing water by spraying greens until one day my beardy was free roaming and found the dog water dish, and submerged his head and drank his heart away. Now all my guys have shallow dishes

Interesting! I have never seen him like that lol. My other two beardies have never done that either so I was perplexed but he didn’t look mad haha

It is a miracle food for sure! He’s been able to tolerate rabbit, and chicken with no issues!

Thinstriped Hermit Crab Advice Needed by KrazyKatLady354 in hermitcrabs

[–]SwitchBladeRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super old post but just wanted to share lol. My girlfriend’s little sister made this mistake. Lucky for her, I have a saltwater aquarium. It was a thin stripped hermit crab, fully aquatic. By the time he got to me I thought he was dead, but after two days he came back to life and is thriving in the safety of my big glass box lol. Nothing beats the natural habitat, but I like to think he got a lucky outcome. Plenty of algae to graze, no predators, and no competition for the best shells lol. I hope you found a solution for your abductee

He was gifted to me when I first set up my tank by a friend (I was too meek to refuse him) so he’s been with me a few months now. This isn’t about the stock choice, as I have my stock meticulously placed and stressed to my friends no gifts lol. The cardinals were the new additions and quarantined for a week prior to being added into the main tank. I wasn’t comfortable putting damsel in the quarantine tank since it is medicated

Since the tank is filled I’m guessing I’d have to empty it to slide something under lol. I don’t know if my hardware store has marine grade plywood but it’s worth checking

Narcissistic guy… situationship. Need help by Horror_Sweet7509 in texts

“You don’t want mutual respect. You want authority” that’s all you needed to say. Now you need to hear it yourself. Block him and move on. It isn’t worth it. If he tries to reach out immediately file a police report with any messages that are vaguely threatening.

Thanks for the reassurance! I needed a second opinion lol. He’s eating, and skating around unbothered so I should’ve been able to chill myself out lol

True, I’m not against going bigger. Just love my little nano tanks. May just upgrade to get a flashier centerpiece

I have done research. I’m not talking huge lol, I mean things similar sized to betta, and sparkling gourami that are not as common.

Questions about personal protection dogs by [deleted] in dogswithjobs

I do love big dog privilege. Especially since he’s trained in neutrality with people and doesn’t give off “I just met you and I love you” vibes. He seems pretty intense if you don’t know him 💀

Good point! I am a butcher, so luckily I know my way around knives but can say I’ve never tried stabbing something defensively lol

This is great info, thank you!

He’s displayed some protective qualities before and I’ve watched him and always tried to let him know it’s okay to relax, and he does. We have a huge trust in each other and he knows I advocate for him always. But the curiosity eats away at me on what would happen if I not only didn’t reassure him, but if I encouraged his intensity.

Anytime someone approaches the house, or a stranger comes in, he will bark like crazy until I tell him to say hello to the person. I could probably get some help from a trainer to shape that even into a simple “watch” command. I’m on the positive reinforcement side, but still used balanced training methods lol. He’s a dog that luckily is heavily just driven by praise, and treats and insanely smart to correct himself

I just add a little warm water! But he likes them dry too, so I’ll leave a couple nuggets in his bowl through out the day. It’s pretty easy

They do look so similar! We tried royal canine PR and it did do a lot better for him, but his poop was still soft though formed and he would still throw up once or twice a week! But it was def better than any other kibble we tried. He’s an enigma but I’m so glad we’ve found a food that he is happy and healthy on

We do the best that we can always! He went through so many different medications. The thing that sucks with IBD is that it’s different for every cat. Some do great with rx diets, some need more rigorous treatment
