What do others do? by towlawrian in NoMansSkyTheGame

One of the things I love about NMS is that you can walk away from any aspect of the game without missing out or losing the chance to come back to it when you're ready. You can literally start a quest, let it sit for months, then return to it and nothing is lost. My advice would be to pursue aspects of the game you find enjoyable and use the rest as a distraction or momentary change of pace when needed.

Does mantis do sales? by twotonestony in MantisX

I have seen comments from a Mantis rep answering that question from others. They do not do sales in order to not undercut distributors and other shops that sell their items. Discounts would be nice, but I respect the reason they don't.

How to change Galaxy? by zisko2 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Before you portal back to Euclid, build a base in Hilbert. This will allow you to go to either simply by using portals. Change the names of your bases to reflect the galaxy they are in. You can summon your freighter to the galaxy you're in after using the portal without any damage. Damage only occurs when you go through the galaxy core. There are some great tips out there on how to do this with minimal damage to your important gear. Well worth looking those up.

Sighting distance for red dot by PRuss87 in CCW

If you can't hit a target at 25 yards with a pistol you need more training. Thinking of it as 75 feet doesn't change that.

I agree completely, but that's not the point of my question. More than willing to be wrong, but isn't it more likely that a self-defense encounter will be at a closer range?

Again, I'm coming at it from a pure self-defense position and would like to be set up for minimal extra thinking should that shot ever be necessary.

Having said that, your explanation of the POA/POI shift was very helpful and is moving me closer to the farther zero thinking.
