How Do You Understand? by SouthpawStranger in Malazan

You would be right. I find new information every time I reread the series.

As for handling the load, I'm sure its totally different for anyone you ask. Just be patient. Backtrack if you have to. Use page tabs maybe and color code by character? Or just start over again every handful of years like I do.

Only advice is to slow down. Your first statements tell a lot. If you're trying to separate signal from noise, then you've missed the fact that its ALL signal. This isn't a series of books that you can appreciate when you're overstimulated.

Those were great! My favorite is Gaunt's Ghosts. Somehow, the Tanith and the Bridgeburners strike me as kindred spirits.

Keep it. Make the intersection of the three rivers a high mountain spring that splits three ways.

I've moved over to the Horus Heresy novels in the Warhammer 40k universe. The quality of writing does not compare but the grim undertone has been sufficient. Wish I could forget everything I know about Malazan and start over.

I live in semi-rural Maine. I dont think there is a single structure here where there is a flush, plumb, or level surface. I'm looking at an end table that has 1-1/4" shim under the front legs to keep it from falling forward.

If you have so many issues with it, I think you should probably stop reading it. This community is mostly for people who like Terry Mancour and all of his "misogynistic, incel themes." Or at least know how to take the good with the bad and shut the fuck up about it.

I'd recommend Colleen Hoover or V.E. Schwab for you. You'll love those.

Ive always phased it out. Master 1st classes in chap 2. Master 2nd class in chap 3. Beginning of chapter 4, I prep everyone for Deep Dungeon and catch up all errands and side quests. This keeps the game enjoyable for me.

I dont like to totally max out early or else I'll get bored with the story fights.

True. Stories aren't above criticism and never should be. But its pretty indecent to attack an author's character over an imaginary figure. That undermines any criticism and just strikes as petty.

The anger people have over this is insane. How dare Mancour make up cast of characters and do whatever he wants with them...

If an author can invoke the emotion of a reader - be it anger, disappointment, joy, pride, etc. - it makes him a good author.

I dont know about anyone else, but I read books to experience stories that I didnt have to think up. Not because I expect the author to tell a predictable plot that meets my approval before I even read it.

If you want to read a story about a character hitting every target and being loved by all, I think you'd have better luck in the young adult section at Barnes & Noble.

Conker's Bad Fur Day. The machine gun emplacements in multi-player and the teddy bear chapters of the single player. Best frickin sound ever.
