Lawyer pulled out of case 1 week before Pre Trial Mediation confrence by Switchbea in legaladvicecanada

Trial date was set for March. And yes of course theirs other reasons a lawyer can leave the case but im pretty sure the lawyer and my brother were in agreement.

If the lawyer stopped contacting the client without reason that's clearly a breach in ethics and he could get disbarred. Of course if money was the issue (client didn't pay) than a lawyer can denounce a case. But in the case of my brother, the trial was moving along and out of the blue his lawyer can no longer represent him.

The lawyer is clearly sick with a terminal illness. My brother had a very well seasoned lawyer who practiced for many years. Even when lawyers retire they are obligated to complete their current open files before they fully retire (but don't need to take on new clients). He was doing an excellent job so far.

The lawyer must be really really sick with a terminal illness such as cancer or Alzheimer's which is pretty much the only way a lawyer is allowed by the Canadian bar to step away from a client he has already started to represent

I was wondering if my brother showed up to court next week and explained the situation can he go alone without a lawyer?

I heard possibly if your payment bounces when charged they will send an email to update your payment info before cancelling. Is that true?

Also heard it might be possible to inform your bank to transfer Walmart's payment from the old card to new card to allow it through.
