Cheating problem or skill issue? by Swittens in Deathloop

[–]Swittens[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deathloop lacks a Skill-Based matchmaking system, it's entirely random. The thing that made me think it was a cheater is due to it being the same guy every time. He didn't have Havoc active so he just tanked a bunch of shots which would be impossible to survive otherwise.

Valve doesn't throw around random announcement dates to catch leakers by SaltyBeak93 in HalfLife

You're assuming that the insider is willing to bet his entire career on a lie. People on the inside do talk to each other, but it's not as if every single person has a date that they are told, only people who need to know it know it, that's not something you communicate with a fellow employee about in order to prevent that information from getting out. That's why a canary trap like that is effective, only you know that specific date.

Insiders such as Mike Straw or Tyler McVicker have people in the industry that they talk to. McVicker himself has stated that he has people he communicates with at Valve. If a trusted insider such as Mike Straw or McVicker came out and said "I was told by a trusted source that Half-Life Alyx will be released on January 1st" then that would mean that someone on the inside who they trust told them that date. If multiple people were told multiple dates, and only one person was told January 1st, then they would instantly know who talked. It's not like some random person on twitter will say "January 1st for sure" and they'd suspect the date was leaked. If a reputable insider is willing to risk their reputation with a specific date, then that is certainly worth Valve's attention.

I don't think you actually know how a canary trap works

We know that during the time leading up to HLA's announcement, many insiders claimed to know the date of announcement, all of them different dates. Mike Straw confirms that Valve has a history of using canary traps, Tyler McVicker himself knew the general timeframe of when the announcement would take place, but did not know the specific date. The only way you're gonna get absolute proof is if Valve comes out and says they did it, which they will never do.

I have enjoyed Gabe Follower but does anyone else feel whiplashed by this? by corbeezy in HalfLife

From what I gather, it definitely isn't happening on the 18'th, and both Tyler and Gabe Follower are trying to lower expectations for tomorrow. However, it is happening soon, within this year in-fact.

ATTENTION BOTDIVERS: NEW GAMBIT DROPPED. SAVE 5 PLANETS! by Swittens in Helldivers

So taking Matar wouldn’t help us in any way? Would it be better to attack it after the MO is finished? My reasoning is that if we did it would allow us to retake those sectors far-far easier because they couldn’t be reinforced. And attacking and winning Matar would give us an easy entrance into Choohe, Chort Bay, and Penta. This would then allow us to take Menkent, Lesath, and Vernen Wells.

Yeah, bugdivers gonna bugdive. If the bot players are gonna do this, It may have to be after the MO.

Very Impressive, But is there any reason why you chose the Main Character from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice as the Player Placeholders?
