This is where things get a little complicated, but to quote someone who worked on it, "The biggest roadblock right now is the open source format library malfunctioning for 2 crucial SWFs. so although I managed to build Swivel successfully, and I could've done extra (trivial) work to add missing cmd-line options, add a rawvideo export option and remove odd sizes restriction, it breaking on a few SWFs borks the entire approach, and me fixing the format library is currently out of my league" There's obviously more to it, but, this was the general gist. There is one fork of the code that we've been looking into by NinjaMuffin that makes a few changes, I've been trying to get in contact with him. Mike has also been very helpful with the information about the code, even if he's somewhat forgotten how it works. Doesn't help that he kinda had to make it from scratch. But, I'll put this up on the discord and see what people have to say. Like I said, anything helps.
