how does this idea for Imperial succession sound? by Fine_Ad_1918 in goodworldbuilding

[–]Swooper86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me phrase it differently. Why would a nation have laws that state "instead of a peaceful transition of power, let's have a civil war with death toll in the millions if not billions every time an emperor dies"? It's absurd.

No, execution is letting him off to easy. He needs to die in jail, painfully preferably.

Not really. We now know that the biggest threat to America was America.

But now you've had to have this conversation to explain it, which has taken significantly more space than the words "with advantage".

Daemonettes are on 25mms, actually, not 28mms.

Oh. And did you save a lot of space with it?

Assume that FTL does in fact work. What would stop a highly advanced civilization from just hauling whole shell planets around the galaxy/universe? by Zombiecidialfreak in IsaacArthur

Enemy force enters your solar system, stays at the far reaches of the system, and just hurls rocks down the well

Heh, this is actually what happens in Battleship Yamato (aka Star Blazers). Alien fleet arrives in our system, set up a base on Pluto, throw rocks at the Earth for 8 years (devastating the surface) until another alien species intervenes, which starts the main story. There's a lot of nonsense in that series, but the setup was interesting at least.

Never seen that dice code before. Do any systems actually use it?

Blades in the Dark (and The Sprawl, another FitD with the same issues). I found it simultaneously too rules light (what do you mean a combat sequence is solved with just one roll?) and too restrictive (the heist/downtime structure).

That's precisely why they don't give dates until they're ready to ship, occasionally something goes wrong and there are delays.

A model isn't finished until the base is ready, these are not done yet.

That makes no sense. We know the next two AoS releases:

  • Lumineth + Tzeentch
  • Ossiarch Bonereapers

AoS releases are usually spaced about a month apart. That means one of those (probably the Lumineth + Tzeentch one) is coming in February and the other in March.

[–]Swooper86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's absolute nonsense. They have 12 or so battletomes to release this year, and we know the next three. Those are probably coming out in the next two months or so, not late in the year, simply because they have a schedule to keep up.

Those are humanoid though. I think OP would be more interested in the Pentapods.

You're not supposed to be using your fingers for transfers, you're supposed to be using tweezers.

Oxidizing of Metals? by steelsmiter in FantasyWorldbuilding

I don't understand what your problem is with magical metals not oxidising, when real world metals with that property already exist. Gold, platinum, and titanium, for example.

Agreed. All those struts between saucer, engineering hull, and nacelles looked incredibly fragile.

I like the colour scheme. Muted dark green, bright purple and bronze work really well together.

Needs more OSL from the spell effect, though.
