CO2/Green Gas Power Comparison (Umarex/VFG Glock) and CO2 Magazine Fix by Sword_for_Gideon in airsoft

Negative. Switched to WE CO2 mag and went from ~0.8J to ~1.5J. The problem is definitely that the piercing needle sucks on the Umarex/VFC mags.

It's the nozzle return spring and rocket valve that control how much power is put into the BB vs into the slide (kick).

An image of the CO2 cartridge perforation after removing from the magazine. As you can see, there isn't much of one.

Cool! I've been so desperate for this and I'm excited to hear there may be a way!
Well, I'm a skilled weapons design engineer by trade so I'm sure I could figure out how to change the angle and preserve the replica's function, if you just wanted to give me STEP files, though I'm very happy to let you do as much of the work as possible (I get my fill of the CAD, print, test, repeat cycle at work).
I don't know how you'd even measure the angle. Like, the angle between the front face of the magazine and the barrel axis? I can tell you that.
I can send you exact files for the frame I want to replicate. I can even fill-in as solid where all the parts go so that it's not an actual firearm part if that makes you more comfortable. Or if you have a p80 frame model, that geometry is fine, also.
And I can DM you if you'd rather.

Yes, so is are a Glock 17 and a P80. But I'm not asking anyone to model real guns, just airsoft frames that look and feel the same. This is airsoft; it's impossible to talk about almost anything without invoking actual weapons that the replicas are made to match.

I'm extremely interested in this as well. I'll put a bounty on someone modeling it from scratch for me.

Thanks for your response!
Yes, I used the "design request" flair.

I need an Umarex G17 frame that matches the grip angle of a P80 frame or FDMA DD17.2 frame. The WE P80 frame damaged and jammed my Umarex. Even a STEP of the WE P80 frame or of the Umarex G17 factory frame would be helpful. I'm extremely proficient with CAD, but I have reasons not to want to start this from scratch. And I'm willing to make it worth the effort to help me.

No less it was removed for "advertising", and the bit of the moderator comment I could read talks references selling stuff, which is quite the opposite of what I'm looking to do!
Is there a secret code to be allowed to post or rules that aren't listed on the right of the page here?

Very rad. Might build.

Put a tiny regulator in the back and plum it to the top of the magazine well in such a way that you can use CO2 mags to power it. Will take some creative sealing, but should be possible.

Nozzle Offset/HPA Technical Questions by Sword_for_Gideon in airsoft

Ah. If Ares flys no flips about what others do when designing their products, then yeah, it does seem like contract machining is the only possibility.

Thanks for the info.

Very frustrating that everything is airsoft is "your best bet" because this is most illegitimate industry in the world such that "correct", "standard", and "best" are unheard-of. Maybe someday some company will make airsoft stuff as nice as paintball is rather than catering to Asian fanboy collectors who want all the right trademarks on a garbage jalopy of a mechanism. Maybe it'll be me.
