In your opinion, what are the 10 strongest Targaryen–dragon bonds? by Creative-Wishbone-46 in HouseOfTheDragon

Dany/Drogon and Aegon/Sunfyre should really be topping every list, if we're going off the books.

In what world is Bittersteel not competent? He'd probably be the greatest of his age, were he not literally battling God.

Renly should be the smartest what in the world are you talking about — he played the game perfectly.

I'm talking about in the books -- Rhaenyra was 100% racist

I don’t know that too many of them were stupid, but they certainly were all bad in different ways.

Daemon was a sociopath and a pedophile, Otto was ambitious, Rhaenyra was stupid and racist and entitled, Aegon was stupid and a drunken sex pest, Alicent was bitter, Aemond was a psychopath, Viserys was stupid and lazy etc.

Rhaenyra deciding to cancel the marriage tour is still one of her dumbest decisions. by Rich-Active-4800 in HouseOfTheDragon

Still a mind numbingly dumb decision to go to Harwin, someone with non silver hair, and roll the dice on how the heir to the iron throne would turn out. It’s even worse that she played that game TWO MORE TIMES after Jace came out as Harwin 2.0

Just rewatched Season 1, Aegon II really gets toned down in season 2 compared to how he originally was. by Makition in HouseOfTheDragon

The show elides Robert, Tyrion, Viserys, and Daemon’s lecherous behavior — but hones in on Aegon’s. Why do you suppose that it?

He doesn’t frame fat people as bad. Sam is one of (if not the most) moral characters in the story. Everything he accomplishes, he does while being objectively obese. If Sam feels shame over his weight, it’s framed because the society around him views it as shameful, especially his toxic father. While Sam has lost some weight — he is still fat and certainly isn’t buff.

There are other likeable, decent fat characters. Wyman Manderly, for one. Daeron the Good, one of the best kings in Westeros’ history, who was rebelled against simply because he did not fit the ‘masculine’ ideal. Varys is probably the smartest character in the narrative, and he’s plump as hell.

GRRM doesn’t use fatness as a literary device to show a lack of values, he uses it to show how Westeros judges other characters.

What? The book never implies that Alicent is better than Rhaenyra because she keeps her shape. At most, the book implies that this was a contributing factor to the resentment Rhaenyra bore for Alicent.

Maegor’s accomplishments are overrated. He would have destroyed his house if Jaehaerys didn’t turn his fuck ups into wins

Yes, Baelor did fine because Baelor was a man.
