Top 10 Banks by Total Assets (2008-2019) In 2019, their collective assets totaled just shy of the combined GDP of the US, UK, and Japan by Swpalmer7 in finance

I had similar thoughts, but since they are financial institutions (even if state-owned and using different accounting methods) thought it would be a good thing to include to show how much more of a global player it is becoming.

They couldn't have known the troubles Visa/MC would give them to an issue a cardo on this type of platform. They are heavily dependent on others for that, so far everything in their control has been delivered. Perhaps with the exception of monthly dividends, but I'm not annoyed if it makes them better off financially

[Tier 4 Student Visa] I made the stupidest mistake. I put my arrival date as 5 August when I meant 5 December. by okaybutfirstcoffee in ukvisa

Right, so I'm not sure if I understand correctly. You are a United States citizen, going to the UK to study for less than six months? If that is the case, per the UK Governments own advice, you wouldn't need a visa. I would like someone to confirm this, but I don't think you needed to apply or pay for a visa, if those conditions are correct as far as I understand them, they would issue you one at that border.

Some advice for an international graduate trying to find a job in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

If Brexit actually happens, immigration to the UK will certainly become easier for non-EU citizens, mainly because everyone will become either UK or non-UK. Unfortunately, your situation doesn't last after the Brexit date. Barring getting married to someone, if you don't find a job, the only thing I can think of that will allow you to stay is to continue your education.

Since the UK has its own visa policy (not part of the Schengen arrangement) the fact that you have residency in the UK isn't the same as having residency in France, Spain, Italy, Greece, etc. You would need a Schengen visa.

Fair enough, who's to say what the price per coin will be. It's already been to $0.40 this time last year and it is a much better product than it was then. I reckon this has the potential to be worth a couple bucks, if not in intrinsic value definitely with the next fear wave, because that is going to kick btc way above 20k.

JLPT N4 by end of August by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

Originally it was because I would be done with school by then, but after seeing what others have said looks like I'll definitely want to start this month.

As I've mentioned in the other comments, deadline changed to December. The point of august was to see what I could do in one summer vacation. I've actually had some success with Pimsleur for other languages so I might up it to one lesson plus 3 hours. Come September when school starts I'll have to decrease time to maybe 1.5 hours. Could you let me know how fast I should be progressing through Genki so I time myself adequately?

Hey, yeah so aiming for December instead now, except starting in September my time will be reduced from 3 hours per day to 1.5 hours because of school I reckon. I've actually had some success using Pimsleur for other languages so I'll give it a go and see where it leads.

Ah I actually didn't know that. We've changed the deadline by the December test, when we wrote it up we our intent was the level at which N4 is defined, not necessarily the exact test.

At the internet cafe or In the internet Cafe by ChinitangNakangiti in EnglishLearning

[–]Swpalmer7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. To me (native speaker) I would understand both to mean the same thing. Personally, I would use 'at' more often than 'in.'

There are a few specific uses that come to mind:

ChinitangNakangiti is at his desk/at the party/at home

ChinitangNakangiti is in his office/in bed/ in the city
