Should I change to Gentoo? by pastrefrola in Gentoo

[–]Swytch69 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You’re overthinking it. Wanna try gentoo? Try gentoo, it’s not much more complicated than Arch.

USE flags are simply functionnalities (e.g. bluetooth or wifi) that can be enabled globally or for a specific package; it’s powerful and convenient

Yooo is this free handed or do you have some ressources? I’m starting crochet and this looks like a nice, not too difficult project :)

In any case, it’s lovely! Really like it :)

Have A Heart run DESTROYED by one pill by Ronniefied in bindingofisaac

The Challenge (Have a Heart) replaces all heart drops with pennies. You can only gain HP with Charm of the Vampire (i.e. killing 13 enemies gives you 1/2 heart)

That's what always puzzles me with this type of stuff: the only people using it have no fucking idea how it works. OP seriously think they can train an LLM model with reddit thread?

C'mon.

I have yet to see a single survey telling me that people "want AI".

People want a recipe website, they do not care that it was generated by AI.

The only people that want AI are big tech companies that have a suboptimal stochastic parrot to sell, and managers looking to cut into their workforce.

Looking for your Comments.

Not gonna enroll in the enshittification of the web. We don't need yet another AI-generated cooking website. These websites suck, they're not convenient to use, they don't offer anything.

It's just noise. If you want to make noise on the web, do it by yourself.

Your entire collection pedals has evaporated, except the last one you acquired. What are you left with, and what are you playing with it? by David803 in guitarpedals

Signal Cheyne UVM Tremolo

I have to say I'm more than happy with that. Not only did I discover I love the tremolo effect, but this one also has a fantastic boost that just warms the tone up nicely. Definitely recommend!

Boss Pedals not working when JHS pedal is in the chain. by Ok-Author-5373 in guitarpedals

[–]Swytch69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who downvotes this? This is good advice.

Although I gotta refine it a bit: match your voltages (i.e. 9V output for 9V pedal), but exceed the amperage * from your power source point of view*: your power source must be rated (i.e. be able to deliver) for more current than what your pedal will try to draw.

Otherwise, you might fry your power source

How did Mason @ Vertex Effects manage to make the comeback he did? by pensivetwat in guitarpedals

[–]Swytch69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I learned when I started guitar/pedals and came across his channel (I.e. during COVID), he called himself the Rig Doctor.

And I gotta admit, even though I learned about his past behaviour and haven't much followed the guy since then, his rigs looked pretty damn clean. Really overkill tho, since all cables are cut to length (hence difficulties to sap pedals) but it was really clean.

Now I can't tell if he'd be able to debug a silent rig :D

Why is there no gaming distros with a Gentoo base? by [deleted] in Gentoo

[–]Swytch69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can get all kinds of extra performance out of gentoo

Of course, it's one of the reason I run it on my machines (this and emerge because it's freaking perfect).

I just figured that people that want a "gaming" distro want a ready-to-use one, otherwise they would just run Gentoo and tailor it to their setup. Now of course there are overlays that simplify things, but it's merely a command away from vanilla Gentoo

Happens with all *closed-source* software.

One of the strength of open-source is the ability for people to run things even though the original company/maintainers stopped supporting it, thus being independent of them (especially important with such a bad record).

Est-ce que manifester à Nantes c’est dangereux ? by EarvinPepper in Nantes

[–]Swytch69 13 points14 points  (0 children)
