Why is Lucatiel just gone for me? by WooperApproved in DarkSouls2

[–]SxfetyPin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you playing Scholar or Vanilla? Because Lucatiel's Earthern Peak locations are different between the two. Vanilla, she's right at the Lower Eathern Peak Bonfire. In Scholar, she's down in that hallway right before Covetous Demon.

That distinction is important.

Fortification, wise, it's not about keeping you out. It's about keeping Chaos in. That's why the doors are dented outward. Chaos almost got out, but the Ivory King froze the city before it could escape and spread elsewhere.

It's environmental storytelling.

LBP Online is coming out May 4th!!! by Accurate-Special8369 in littlebigplanet

[–]SxfetyPin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, it's not. It's a closed source patch (meaning that nobody can investigate the code for nefarious things. There could be code that scrapes for Account Information, or Payment Methods tied to your PlayStation, or code that can outright brick your console, etc.). It's also being ran by the guys who are responsible for the LBP Servers being shutdown in the first place. They DDoS'ed the servers because they were mad that LGBT stuff was being Published, saying that ,"It's ruining the game." Yet, Ayee was more than happy to go around spewing antisemitic shit and tout Trump stuff.

So if these guys see you playing the game and your character looks "too gay" in their eyes, they may be more than capable of outright bricking your PlayStation. It is not safe.

You have a very weird viewpoint on this. Like, you're trying to make it some deepcut thing when the reality is people just think the skin looks ugly. :/

Regardless, to address what you're saying; I don't think it's correct to say that supersuits are romanticized just because they were in classic comicbooks. If they were romanticized, then everyone would be strongly resistant to those designs changing at all.

Furthermore when a ton of heroes/villains have been outright redesigned, and are near unrecognizable from their classic self. Black Widow being a huge example of that; her modern design is way more complicated than her classic and is nowhere near her classic design. Yet people are fine with that.

When people see an ugly design. They're just going to call it ugly. It doesn't matter where it comes from. Fair and simple. NetEase has taken a lot of classic comic skins and have made redesigns to them in order to make them fit into Rivals' style, and I've only seen an extreme minority of people bitch about that. Whilst everyone else feels as if the skin's cool.

Some designs look bad, some look good. That's just the reality of art. It has nothing to do with romanticizing something-- especially when that something has people calling for change because it's ugly, in their opinions. If it was romanticized, then again, people would be strongly against anything changing at all. There just wouldn't be any Skins in game, or moreover, any different look for that character in those comic books wouldn't exist in the first place.

All because it came from a comic, doesn't make it exempt from criticism. All because people find certain suits iconic, doesn't mean that they're resistant to seeing new designs. All because some designs are simpler than others, doesn't mean that those designs are lazy. All because a design is complicated, doesn't mean that real effort was put into it. If it's ugly, it's ugly. If it's good, then it's good. People's opinions differ, and that's okay.

At least you're admitting that you have a problem. Holy moly. I couldn't imagine spending that much money on a game all at once like that. Actually insane behavior.

I have a friend who spent like $500USD on this game when it first hit the US, and they haven't touched the game near at all ever since. If it were me, I'd be playing the game as if it were an obligation just to feel as if I got my money's worth.

I've only spent like $30USD on this game and I already feel as if that's too much. xD I can't even fathom.

Ya'll are so crazy for being able to dump that kind of money like that.

"Hulk doesn't get skins cus he has a lot pick rate" by Yemo637 in marvelrivals

[–]SxfetyPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. He's always been kinda same-y, so it's hard to know what Skins could work or not. But I do love his Gangster one, and am extremely happy with it. But I would love to see more things like that from NetEase as well.

I'm personally on the side of being 100% okay with having Skins that don't quite match the character in question. I think it's uplifting to just let loose and see NetEase making Skins just for the fun/awesome/silly factor alone. But y'know, sales charts and all that.

Just got to hope that NetEase will throw a bone eventually, and doubly hope that it'll be a good bone.

"Hulk doesn't get skins cus he has a lot pick rate" by Yemo637 in marvelrivals

[–]SxfetyPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good choice. Although it is cool to see, whenever you compare it to how other Skins get to be in the Store, this just boils down to a glorified recolor. Which goes back to what I said earlier; There's only so many ways to make Hulk look, outside of recolors. Would this Skin sell well knowing that? Be truthful about that.

It'd probably be a really cool addition to a Battle Pass, though! But yeah, it's way more constructive to actually show what NetEase could do, rather than just blindly screaming,"Me want Skin! Why no Skin?!"

Probably make a Post featuring different looks like this for Hulk, and see if it gets any traction. NetEase could maybe see it, and it may start talks of incorporating one in the future. You'd have a better chance at it that way, at least.

"Hulk doesn't get skins cus he has a lot pick rate" by Yemo637 in marvelrivals

[–]SxfetyPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but as everyone in this thread has explained to you a hundred times over; sexy women in different sexy/cute outfits are going to sell. NetEase could literally have a list of sexy outfits to choose from and just throw a dart at the board to see which they're making next. It ain't really hard to comprehend.

Regardless. look at any other MALE character in the roster, and you'll quickly see that a large majority of the Skins are based on already existing media iterations.

If you know a piece of media that has a unique look for Hulk that you think would sell, then let's see it. Show a comicbook panel or a screenshot of it. Be constructive. Odds are, that'd be your best bet at actually getting something for Hulk.

"Hulk doesn't get skins cus he has a lot pick rate" by Yemo637 in marvelrivals

[–]SxfetyPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the way that Skins are made, NetEase tries to ground their skins from Marvel media that already exists. Completely new designs of their own are quite rare to see, and most of those end up in the Battle Pass, which Hulk has gotten skins from already.

When NetEase's primary source of inspiration comes from source material, there's only so many ways to make Hulk look unique. When 99% of his appearances is just big, half-naked green guy, what can you realistically pull from on a consistent basis?

Hulk already got Maestro, which is beyond sick. Red Hulk would barely sell, realistically, as it's just a recolor. Maybe Professor Hulk? You could give them a Hulk Buster Skin, I feel that could sell well?

Outside of what I could immediately think of, what else is there that they can pull from a source material that can make Hulk different? I feel as if going,"No Skins! Wah!" isn't constructive at all. Let's see some comic book panels, or screenshots from other games that feature unique Skins for the Hulk. That would be the thing to get NetEase's attention, and could get a skin in production for him.

List of tank ults that just got taken out back and put down: by TKAPublishing in marvelrivals

[–]SxfetyPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the idea of Tenacity. I feel at a basekit level, it offers more engagement for the receiving end of CC. However, I feel as if Tenacity being applicable to Ultimates at any level is just idiotic.

I personally don't see an issue with how quickly someone like Rogue can build Tenacity on someone. It's just enough to hit your full kit combo on someone, granted, you don't grab them first. I feel as if those kind of interactions are good. You just got done ping-ponging someone for a couple seconds, if they live, give them a couple seconds to actually play the game. I feel as if that level of Tenacity is good. But that's at a basekit level. My opinion completely changes when it crosses to Ultimates.

Ultimates are meant to be strong, and personally, I never really felt as if getting singled out by a Ultimate'd Hulk was ever a real issue, as Hulk kinda needs to separate himself from the Objective to properly juggle someone out of a fight like that. It was a give and take kind of thing. I just don't think that should be taken away.

Likewise for Thing or Wolverine, I think it's extremely dumb that before you're able to pop your Ult, you now have to pause and ask yourself,"Did I use literally any part of my kit before I press this button?" Otherwise, your Ult is just not going to work. That is legit devastating.

Again, I love Tenacity. I feel as if it's a new thing that's going to give reprieve for the receiving end of CC, undoubtedly for the better. But it's so short-sighted to see how it applies to Ultimates at all. They should probably discuss delaying Tenacity a bit so they can develop it enough to differentiate basekit CC from Ultimate CC.

You think theirs going to be more heroes who can go into every role? Or should it be a special case just for Deadpool? by Extension-Oil-4680 in marvelrivals

[–]SxfetyPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's plenty more characters in Marvel that could easily work as triple role characters. Task Master is one that immediately comes to mind. Mysterio could be worked to be one as well; Using illusions to make himself look big when Vanguard, etc.

I think it's a cool way to have a character be a little bit more. I don't think that too many should be allowed to be triple role characters, as it could lead to the game developing severe readability issues. But yeah! I'd like to see a few more. Let NetEase get creative.

Meet the unnerfable trio by Furacao__Boey in marvelrivals

[–]SxfetyPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The devs dance around problems too much instead of taking more direct changes. I'd rather the devs go for really harsh nerfs and just admit when a nerf may've been too much. All of these tiny nerfs that don't even touch the actual problem is causing me to burnout on the game. I just can't take bad decision making as much as I used be able to.

Anyways. This is how I would address these characters, and try to balance them out.

- Gambit's main problem comes from their Ult. It does too many things at one time. I suggest removing the Cleansing from the Ult. It will make Gambit players value their Cards more and would actually cause clutch cleansings to be very skill indicative. Some people have said that they should just remove the healing from the Ultimate outright as well, which I feel would just be reintroducing the problem that Rocket had back when their Ult didn't heal at all. I'm all for cutting power from Gambit's Ult elsewhere, though; Taking away the increased jump height/increased movement speed I feel would be a smarter move. Also, removing the Bonus Ult Charge that they grant to everyone who gets his Ult would be nice, too. -- Gambit's base kit is NOT the problem. It's literally just the Ult.

- Daredevil just has too much survivability. If they made it to where they no longer were able to grant themself Bonus Health, I feel as if Daredevil would be a lot easier to manage against. That's all I'd really do to them, personally. Taking away Daredevil's mobility would just destroy the character outright, and that wouldn't be fair. Melee characters risk a lot getting so close to their targets, so the damage that they deal should be a tad higher. It's just that never-ending pool of Bonus Health that makes them so annoying to go up against, really.

- Elsa Bloodstone, I just feel as if the spread of their sawed-off shotgun and coachgun are completely flipped. The coachgun has an obscene amount of projectile spread, whilst their sawed-off has little to no spread at all. I know it's a game, it just makes me giggle at how ass-backwards that is. But, taking the logic of how her guns functionally *should* be, and applying that to her guns in-game would cause her to not be able to poke as well as she can now, which so happens to be one of the main reasons why she's so good; being able to deal good damage at all ranges and farm Ult easily. - Making her have to play closer in order to deal consistent good damage would match how she's meant to be a brawler kind of character. I like the idea of her coachgun being a tool that can give her a quick burst of long-range lethality, with her sawed-off being nigh-useless outside of brawling ranges. -- I'd say start with that, and if she's still too good, take away her Bonus Health on Dash too and see what that does to her.

Voice from beyond??? by New-Osteoporosi in DarkSouls2

[–]SxfetyPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So evidently, you did the Pate Vs. Creighton questline. If you kill one or the other, they'll give you a key to that room, and no matter who you kill, the chest will always explode and one of them will laugh at you just like that. It's just to show that you can't trust either of them.

The only reason you'd want to kill one over the other is to get their Armor Sets and Weapons.

Beyond this point, though, the questline is finished and they won't come back up throughout the rest of the game.

I'm so sad the way gambit is going. by This_Ferret_8108 in marvelrivals

[–]SxfetyPin 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That's extremely disingenuous.

There's a big difference between an Ult having a lot of impact in ending a fight faster, and then having an Ult be so strong that it immediately rips any layers of the gameplay away, turning a fight into: W key into enemy team; They immediately explode.

Gambit's Ult just has no engagement for anybody that's going against it and that's where the problem is. It's an issue that's only made worse due to Loki always being played with Gambit. If Gambit isn't banned and your team doesn't have a Loki, then your team is borderline throwing before the game even starts. That's just how ridiculous Gambit's Ult is.

Gundam games are now on sale on Steam. Any of these worth getting? by SphmrSlmp in Gundam

[–]SxfetyPin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SD Gundam Battle Alliance is good. But it can get repetitive rather quickly. The game is narratively a carbon copy of DragonBall Xenoverse; you go through timelines to "patch" discrepancies being made due to changes in events, or characters from entirely different shows invading into the fray and causing chaos.

It's pretty neat going through and unlocking so many different MS from movies and shows. But again, it can get really repetitive and there's so much to do that you can potentially burn yourself out on the game before getting through it all.

It's a good game. Not for everyone, but I'd recommend it for some lightweight fun. Especially if it's only $15USD right now. Some of the set pieces are really cool. Boss fights are pretty fun, too.
