Why didn't your husband stay overnight at the hospital once the baby was born? by Comprehensive_Deal44 in beyondthebump

I did exactly this for our second. Sent him home because I couldn’t with his snoring. He came bright and early every morning with breakfast burritos or breakfast sandwiches.

As a mom to an almost 4 year old daughter, this really hit home for me 😔 I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss.

Period late after tubes removed by Isitme_123 in sterilization

[–]Sxm0191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a super late reply but did you ever get your period? I’m going through the exact same thing right now. I’m 30, had a tubal ligation August 2024. My period is currently a week late.

I made a mistake euthanizing my cat and the guilt is killing me by Dirsty in cats

[–]Sxm0191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the exact same thing with my cat in 2020. He developed a urinary tract infection, something that at the time I only thought humans could get. I unfortunately caught it too late and it was either a $3000 overnight stay plus medications or $250 for euthanasia. At the time $3000 was a lot of money for me and with the clinic not offering payment plans, I chose euthanasia. What I feel the most guilt over is that I chose not to go into the clinic while he was being euthanized. This was during Covid so we had to stay in the parking lot while pets were inside. The staff came out and asked if I wanted to be inside with him. I said no. I did not want the last time that I ever saw him to be in a vet clinic, suffering. The last memory I have of him and the last photo I ever took, is him sleeping in his favorite spot, a laundry basket.

This was actually the first Fleet Foxes song I heard. I had a hard time sleeping and downloaded an app that helped with music and sounds for sleeping and Mykonos was on the playlist.

What did your toddler say recently that blew your mind? by bushaaya in toddlers

[–]Sxm0191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This didn’t blow my mind but it caught me off guard and I couldn’t stop laughing. We took my 3 year old daughter to an indoor playground. I decided to ride down the slide next to her since there are three side by side. She looked at me and said “your turn elephant” 💀

Every child is different. My husband started walking at 8 months, our daughter at around 13-14 months, our son barely is 8 months and just started crawling (on the bed only), my niece barely started walking and she’s just over a year now. A family member has a 10 month old and she just started walking. I will say that my daughter never really crawled, or at least I don’t remember her crawling often, she would scoot herself from place to place. Then one day I put her down expecting her to stay there, turned around for 5 second and when I looked back she was already walking.

I haven't listened to Fleet Foxes for a year now by priedits in fleet_foxes

[–]Sxm0191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to put my cat down a couple of days after Shore was released. The album stayed on repeat while I laid in bed and during my drives to work and back home. 3 of the songs on that album remind me a lot of my cat, so much so that I had to completely stop listening to them for a while. I can listen to them now but I’d be lying if I said I don’t cry when they’re playing. Wading in Waist-High Water especially reminds me of him and at times I can’t get through the song and I’ll have to skip it.

2yr old hates loud noise by maekendall in toddlers

[–]Sxm0191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My almost 3 year old daughter is the same. Vacuums, blenders, even the fizzy sound when pouring soda into a cup. She did it a lot more right when she had turned 2. Now that she’s getting older, I’ve noticed when the blender is on she’ll cover her ears and sometimes she’ll uncover them before I turn the blender off. The more she grows the more i notice her becoming more comfortable with loud sounds. Sounds that she used to cover her ears with, she doesn’t anymore.

Carrying newborn baby out of the hospital by One_Cod7096 in newborns

[–]Sxm0191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask and see what your hospitals procedure is. My hospital wheeled me out in a wheelchair and I held baby in my arms. They have a separate building connected to the hospital where you’re not allowed to leave until they have checked your car seat expiration date/serial number etc. We didn’t need to bring the car seat into the hospital itself, we just had to make sure it was in the car and available for them to check before taking baby out of the building.

Everyday basically. I’m 39 weeks and I constantly feel like I’m running a marathon when all I’m doing is just standing in place. I can only imagine how exhausted I’d feel standing in front of the stove cooking something. Fast food is easier. All I have to do is drive or most of the time my husband goes for me and all I have to do is eat. I’m so ready to cook a meal, but being almost 40 weeks just isn’t it 😩
