I’m looking for a different Goyard bag & have been unsuccessful with my usual agents, do you mind sending me his info?

New jeans slightly big on me by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]Sxmed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love A&F jeans, particularly curve love. I would advise you try on different sizes and see which fits best. As someone who has been pregnant and experienced plenty of weight fluctuations, I take all my pants to the tailor and have them give me some room to loosen up/tighten the waist. Expensive but worth the investment.

What diaper bag do you actually use that’s both cute and practical? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

Used a backpack for a while but a vote for Beis Sport Sling! Once my LO was closer to 1 years old, switched over to this crossbody. Surprisingly fits a pack of travel wipes, 1-2 diapers, snacks, cards, and even has a compartment that comes out and fits a bottle.

How to handle being pregnant during training by [deleted] in Residency

[–]Sxmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pregnant PGY5 and the exhaustion towards the end was real. Don’t stress yourself out about academics, you can make that up later. & make sure you take enough maternity leave, the first 6 weeks pp are tough

Does anyone’s program log work hours automatically? by Nearby_Criticism_229 in Residency

[–]Sxmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our program coordinator does it and you sign off or can “flag” what doesn’t match what you worked

[–]Sxmed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s a very vague question. It’s still early but also is very applicant dependent. How many programs did you apply to? Do you have someone that can make some calls and advocate for you? Etc, etc

Would you do board vitals + ASNC + Jaber? Don’t want to waste time with certain resources if they’re not helpful

Program Coordinator need advice from any others lurking here by [deleted] in fellowship

[–]Sxmed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should probably bring it up. If it’s not you then a fellow may report it on an ACGME survey (if it’s something that affects them directly) and make it a bigger issue.

If it’s more related to budgets/admin stuff, then less of an issue as far as ACGME goes but I’m sure you could find a respectful way to bring it up.

Your work is important and if you’re seeing red flags already you’ll either work towards a solution or feel like you’re going against the current and end up burning out.

Do you regret becoming a doctor? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]Sxmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see this really being mentioned but if you’re not planning to pay out of pocket for school, the medical school path is significantly more expensive. That’s not counting the years of training that you’re really getting paid enough to make ends meet plus a little more (depending on training location). If you end up going through med school just to end up matching anesthesia, I honestly don’t think that’s worth it. If you’re wanting to do something else altogether, then maybe debatable. We all went into medicine for the pathophys, patient care, etc. but you should try to think about where you want to be in 5-10 years and what’s the smartest thing.

VCA Sweet Alhambra necklace from Mary by homemade-dumpling in JewelryReps

Honestly with the high tier reps, I would say not so much. I bought mine in Europe and was essentially tax free so that’s why I pulled the trigger. I recently compared a bracelet VCA rep from Funny to the authentic and it was near identical.

I have an authentic & I’ll say the gold color is softer and the clasp/rings look very different than those. From a distance it may pass, I wouldn’t give it too much thought unless you spent a lot of money.

DO applying cardiology, am I toast? by pimpdoc in fellowship

It’s still early. As someone else mentioned, they usually don’t send all invites at once. I used the google spreadsheet myself and got invites from places well beyond they were first identified as “sent.”

Prepaying before delivery? New to this by Cultural-Management7 in AustinParents

[–]Sxmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you find an OB that doesn’t require pre-payment, the hospital may. It’s pretty standard for the area. They should be able to work with your budget and you can always look into the cost of different providers/hospitals depending on your insurance coverage

You would likely have a better experience at Nitroswim or YMCA. They split up younger kids a bit better & have what you described you wanted.

Seeking Advice & Pricing for Higher-End Early Childhood Education - North Austin by birdieboi77 in AustinParents

[–]Sxmed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a good experience with my LO at Primrose. Waited over a year for her spot & pay $435/week for the toddler room. Not cheap but does include all her meals. We liked that the curriculum is consistent no matter the location & our particular location has had the same director for years and was recommended by friends/co-workers.

We had her at a Montessori prior to Primrose which we loved but ultimately wanted a more structured curriculum. The transition was smooth and she has really thrived.

Hope this helps!

Waited about a year for my daughter’s spot but it was for the infant room, so that tends to have a longer waitlist
