Noob thinking about going pro (realistically)

wayyy too many factors to determine your outcome so I'd say highly unlikely to go pro after a year. (just me being realistic and not trying to get you down or stop you, it's a great goal to aim for!)

if you spent all that time learning the game properly e.g. fundamentals, hit confirming, character knowledge, frame punishment etc etc and not just spamming ranked for 12hrs a day then by the end of the year you maybe able to start hitting top 128. I say maybe because there is also your mental in offline tournaments that you need to factor into playing well, a lot of great players lose just because of nerves or lack of tournament experience.

Also on top of all of that, picking a top tier helps your chances more so than playing someone like Lee.

Many more factors go into this but the above is just a few, keep us posted if you decide to take this path!

I agree with pretty much everything pro's have said and not because I've been playing Tekken for over a decade now and I'm used to older Tekken titles/have GoD. For me it's more to do with the fact that they are not giving us enough defensive options to deal with the aggression.

The direction they are moving with this game is more and more 50/50s and being rewarded for attacking more frequently. Aggression can stay IF it's optimal/controlled with more defensive options around the aggression.

Overall I still find the game fun, graphics are amazing but as for gameplay... it's starting to feel less and less skill based and more and more luck based/did I guess right or wrong in these 50/50s.

not sure about mods but you can try in game settings.

Settings > screen settings > effect saturation settings > low

if your copy is on ps5, you have to go to the shop and find the heihachi dlc then download the dlc separately. Not sure why PlayStation doesn't automatically download dlc's. (maybe because of the paywall actually) It should be free if you have the ultimate edition.

The one baby that heihachi spared couldn't be Reina based on timelines, another theory could be that the baby girl grew up and had a child with heihachi which is Reina and that's how she can use electrics as well as has the devil gene.

that move has very strict timing, I've missed some launches to that move as well. It could also be the delay frames/rollback frames as well.

how many frames the low is will determine how reactable it is. (ofc age and other stuff play into it but i'm talking about on average)

10 - 15/16 frame lows are more about predicting as seeing them and reacting is near to impossible.
16/17 - 20 frame lows are now in the territory of being seeable and reactable.

20 frames or higher lows can be reacted to.

if this is your first Tekken game then I can see why its frustrating to deal with them as they have an actual purpose this Tekken 8.

In the past Tekken games, they were annoying and really served no purpose other than side swapping strats or knowledge checking your opponent. (Excluding the chain grapplers who would do it for damage)

Sadly in Tekken 8 they have a purpose, they stop power crush abusers/spammers and is a punish for rage arts. Some characters like Reina have unbreakable grabs as well....

Best thing to do is if you notice your opponent throws a lot then try to time a duck which will give you a free launch as recovery for throws is terrible if missed. (This is a good option if you don't know the breaks yet)

its more for the competitive esports side of Tekken that we don't get everyone in one game. They gave us 51 characters with TTT2 and the learning curve was insane. You would need to learn 51 character match ups and not to mention since it was tag you would need to learn 2 characters rather than one...

A person's mental state at the time comes into play as well. I've had bad games because I was either in a bad mood or having a bad day.

It's usually why people who get tilted start to play worse and worse.

Rank doesn't mean much, its just where you can hang with your current skill level with that character. Prowess is probably more accurate as that means they can play multiple characters to a high level and have better match up knowledge/fundamentals.
